Zelenskyy Faces Major Scandal as Allies Implicated in $100M Wartime Corruption Scheme

As gold toilets and offshore accounts emerge, faith in Ukraine’s leadership crumbles and Trump’s peace-first stance gains ground.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is facing the most explosive scandal of his presidency, as a sweeping money-laundering investigation has exposed members of his inner circle allegedly siphoning off over $100 million in wartime funds. The scandal, dubbed “Operation Midas” by Ukrainian investigators, is sending shockwaves through the country as public trust in the government hits rock bottom.

At the center of the firestorm: luxury living, offshore bank accounts, and even gold-plated toilets all surfacing as Ukraine continues to receive billions in U.S. taxpayer-funded aid.

According to multiple reports, the investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has revealed a vast network of corruption tied to state energy contracts, with some of the money meant to secure Ukraine’s power infrastructure during its war with Russia allegedly ending up in the pockets of Zelenskyy allies.

Among the most damning revelations:

  • Businessman Tymur Mindich, a longtime associate and former co-owner of Zelenskyy's entertainment company Kvartal 95, is accused of leading one of the schemes. Investigators allegedly found bags of cash and a golden toilet in his upscale Kyiv apartment.

  • Mindich’s lavish property, in the same building as Zelenskyy's residence, was reportedly the site of the president’s birthday celebration in 2021.

  • Former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov, another close ally, is under investigation for abuse of office. He's reportedly building multiple luxury homes in one of Kyiv’s wealthiest neighborhoods.

A former government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Fox News Digital:

“Zelenskyy is part of the problem… There’s suspicion that money ended up in accounts abroad that benefited Zelenskyy and his inner circle.”

The official added that many in Ukraine are now losing the will to fight, not just because of war fatigue, but because of the “corrupt swamp” they see controlling their country behind the scenes.

This scandal couldn’t come at a worse time for Zelenskyy. After receiving nearly $75 billion in U.S. aid under Biden, scrutiny is growing at home and abroad over how that money is being used and whether the Biden administration turned a blind eye to the corruption it helped finance.

In his Nov. 10 nightly address, Zelenskyy attempted to shift the narrative, saying:

“Everyone who put together a corrupt scheme must receive a clear legal response… The inevitability of punishment is necessary.”

But critics aren’t buying it. One Ukrainian source claimed Zelenskyy is more focused on preserving his public image than rooting out corruption:

“Zelenskyy is not the kind of person who feels shame even if there’s a corruption probe… He got everything from this war a vertical of power, media adoration, and money.”

And as Zelenskyy scrambles to salvage credibility, many Ukrainians are beginning to look elsewhere including toward Donald Trump, who they say is the only leader willing to talk peace.

“Many Ukrainians believe in Donald Trump now,” the official said. “If not for Donald Trump, we would not be talking about peace today at all… Every day of war is destroying Ukraine.”

While Biden continues to send blank checks overseas, Americans deserve to know exactly what their money is funding. Corruption like this doesn’t just rot foreign governments it erodes U.S. credibility and national security in the process.
