Zelensky Signals Openness to Trump-Backed Ukraine Peace Deal
After tough negotiations, Ukraine and Russia edge closer to peace under a reshaped U.S. framework led by Trump.

In a major development that could reshape the trajectory of the Russia-Ukraine war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has endorsed an updated U.S.-backed peace plan spearheaded by President Donald Trump, calling the revised terms “doable.”
The original 28-point plan rolled out last week triggered a wave of backlash from Ukrainian officials for its tough compromises most notably, conceding the entire Donbas region to Russia and limiting Ukraine’s military to 600,000 troops. But Zelensky confirmed on Monday that a revamped version negotiated in Geneva has taken a more balanced approach.
“Now the list of necessary steps to end the war can become doable,” Zelensky said in a video message. “There are fewer points – no longer 28 – and many of the right elements have been taken into account in this framework.”
According to Zelensky, the Geneva negotiations brought about significant revisions to the plan, reflecting both Ukrainian concerns and American diplomatic flexibility. He emphasized that more work remains, but noted that the United States is handling the situation constructively and with seriousness.
This shift is a direct result of President Trump’s renewed diplomatic leadership on the world stage. Trump announced Monday that real progress was being made, posting on Truth Social:
“Is it really possible that big progress is being made in Peace Talks between Russia and Ukraine??? Don’t believe it until you see it, but something good just may be happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
For those who remember the chaos under the Biden administration, this is a striking contrast. While Biden’s foreign policy handed over billions with no endgame and fumbled through escalations, Trump’s approach has always focused on negotiation, strength, and putting America and global stability first.
The initial 28-point plan was crafted under Trump’s renewed leadership and has now been refined through direct talks in Geneva.
Zelensky confirmed Ukraine is not an obstacle to peace, making it clear that Russia is the party most interested in prolonging the war.
Trump’s foreign policy track record includes historic agreements in the Middle East and no new wars during his first term a fact the media rarely admits.
Zelensky’s tone also marked a notable departure from his previous hardline rhetoric, likely recognizing the reality on the ground after two exhausting years of conflict and billions in Western aid that has only dragged out the inevitable.
This is Trump’s foreign policy in action results over rhetoric, peace through strength, and common sense over endless conflict.
While the details of the updated plan are still being finalized, what’s clear is that the world is inching closer to ending a brutal war not through appeasement, but through firm leadership and strategic diplomacy.
Once again, it’s President Trump not the globalists, not NATO bureaucrats, and certainly not the Biden leftovers who is moving the world toward peace.
