Zelensky Rejects Any US-Russia Deal Without Ukraine

Ukraine’s president insists he must be part of any peace negotiations.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is making it clear he will not accept any deal between the United States and Russia about Ukraine unless he is directly involved. During an interview on NBC News’ “Meet The Press,” Zelensky pushed back against the idea that the U.S. and Russia could negotiate an end to the war without Ukraine’s full participation.

  • Zelensky insists that no leader in the world can negotiate with Putin about Ukraine without Ukraine itself.

  • He acknowledges America as Ukraine’s strongest strategic partner but demands to be fully included in peace talks.

  • Trump has suggested Ukraine will have a seat at the table but has not committed to equal footing in negotiations.

“I will never accept any decisions between the United States and Russia about Ukraine,” Zelensky said. “Never. And our people, never.”

The Ukrainian leader expressed gratitude for U.S. support but made it clear that his government would not be sidelined in any potential peace deal. He emphasized that the war is being fought on Ukrainian soil and that his people are the ones suffering the human cost.

Zelensky also noted that while the U.S. and Russia may engage in economic partnerships and diplomatic discussions, Ukraine’s war must not be part of those dealings without Ukrainian input.

This raises a key question will the Biden administration, which has sent over $75 billion to Ukraine with little oversight, respect Zelensky’s demand? Or will Washington continue making unilateral decisions that impact the entire region?

One thing is certain: the war in Ukraine remains a geopolitical disaster that Biden’s policies have only prolonged. Meanwhile, Putin is strengthening ties with China and Iran, making the global security situation even more unstable. The lack of a coherent U.S. strategy has left Ukraine vulnerable and taxpayers footing an endless bill.

With Trump poised to return to office, there’s growing hope for a real peace deal one that actually prioritizes American interests and ends the reckless spending.
