Whitmer's Connection Fails Amid Questioning on Hunter Biden Trial

Whitmer Dodges Question on Hunter Biden’s Criminal Case During CNN Interview.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) experienced a sudden technical issue during a remote interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” when asked about the criminal trial of President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden. The timing of this connection loss, occurring over the weekend, raised eyebrows as Whitmer was confronted with questions about the high-profile case.

  • Governor Whitmer lost connection when questioned about Hunter Biden’s criminal trial.

  • Hunter Biden is accused of three felonies related to a firearm purchase in 2018.

  • Whitmer later rejoined the interview but avoided taking a definitive stance on the charges.

Hunter Biden is currently facing federal charges for allegedly lying on a background check and illegally possessing a firearm in 2018. These charges are compounded by his admitted addiction to crack cocaine, which legally disqualified him from owning a firearm.

When CNN’s Dana Bash initially asked Whitmer about the charges, Whitmer responded, “Dana, are you there?” The segment was subsequently cut short as Whitmer claimed she could not hear Bash.

However, Whitmer rejoined the program at the end of the show and was asked again about Hunter Biden’s legal troubles. This time, she responded vaguely, “You know, I don’t know how to weigh in on that, Dana.”

During the earlier portion of the interview, Whitmer was vocal about former President Donald Trump and his recent legal issues. She commented extensively on Trump’s controversial trial and conviction in Manhattan, which many experts believe may be overturned on appeal.

“Under this democracy, no one’s above the law. Everyone is held into account,” Whitmer said regarding Trump. “And this former president is now a convicted felon.” She added that Trump “flouts the law and cheats and just got caught.”

Whitmer’s reluctance to address Hunter Biden’s case starkly contrasted with her willingness to discuss Trump’s legal matters. This disparity did not go unnoticed and has fueled further speculation and criticism regarding the handling and discussion of legal issues within the political sphere.
