Contributions from Dana White and Kid Rock Aid Trump Rally Shooting Victims
Donations surpass $2 million in under 24 hours as support pours in for victims.
Dana White, Kid Rock, and thousands of supporters have rallied behind the victims of the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, raising over $2 million in just 24 hours. The GoFundMe page, sanctioned by Trump, was created to aid those killed or injured during the violent incident at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The initial goal of $1 million was quickly surpassed, doubling by Sunday afternoon. The fundraiser description read: “President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a place for donations to the supporters and families wounded or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt. All donations will be directed to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover. May God bless and unite our nation.”
Key Points:
Rapid Support: Over $2 million raised in less than 24 hours from more than 26,000 donors.
High-Profile Donations: Kid Rock and Dana White each donated $50,000; Vivek Ramaswamy contributed $30,000.
Victims Honored: Corey Comperatore, a firefighter, was killed shielding his daughters. Two others were seriously injured.
The fundraiser saw significant contributions from notable figures. Kid Rock, donating $50,000, expressed his anger in a video message: “You f*** with Trump, you f*** with me,” he declared. UFC president Dana White also donated $50,000, and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy added $30,000 to the fund.
Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old firefighter from Pennsylvania, has been identified as the deceased rally-goer. He is hailed as a hero for protecting his daughters during the attack. Two other attendees were seriously injured, though Trump was reported to be “fine” after a bullet grazed his ear.
The Secret Service confirmed that they “neutralized” the shooter, who was positioned on a rooftop about 150 yards from the stage where Trump was speaking.
On Sunday, Trump posted on Truth Social, expressing his condolences and emphasizing unity. “Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed,” he wrote. Trump stressed the importance of standing united against evil, stating, “It is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win.”
The overwhelming support and rapid fundraising highlight the solidarity and determination of Trump’s supporters in the face of adversity.
