Colorado Authorities Detain 19 Alleged Venezuelan Illegal Gang Members
Armed illegal alien gang members linked to violent attacks in Aurora neighborhood.
The Aurora Police Department detained 19 suspected illegal alien gang members from Venezuela early Tuesday morning after a harrowing attack at an apartment complex plagued by crime. The incident underscores the dangers posed by lax immigration enforcement and the Biden administration’s failure to secure the southern border.
Late Monday night, more than a dozen armed individuals forced a male and female victim into a different unit at the Edge at Lowry Apartments, a site authorities say has been overrun by gang activity tied to Tren de Aragua, a notorious Venezuelan criminal network. The victims were bound, pistol-whipped, beaten, and stabbed before being released under threats of violence if they contacted police. Despite the danger, the victims immediately reported the crime.
Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain confirmed the detained individuals are Venezuelan nationals who appear to have entered the U.S. illegally. Authorities have enlisted federal agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), to help identify the suspects and their roles in the attack.
Key Details of the Incident:
Police initially found 14 suspects crowded into a single apartment early Tuesday, with five more detained later that day.
The victims suffered brutal treatment but acted courageously to report the crime, prompting swift law enforcement action.
Investigators have 72 hours to gather evidence and press charges, as the suspects remain in custody.
Property management company CBZ Management blamed Democratic policies for the worsening conditions at the complex, citing inadequate law enforcement presence and lenient attitudes toward illegal immigration. Aurora’s police chief didn’t mince words when labeling the event: “This is 100% gang activity.”
This case highlights a disturbing trend of foreign gangs exploiting U.S. border weaknesses to spread violence in American communities. Tren de Aragua has gained a reputation in South America for its brutality, and its presence in Colorado signals a broader failure to address illegal immigration and organized crime effectively.
Until policymakers prioritize border security and enforce strict immigration laws, American citizens will continue to pay the price for weak leadership.
