JD Vance Calls Out Mark Cuban for “Insulting” Comments About Women Supporting Trump

Vance defends Trump’s strong female supporters, blasts the left’s “condescending” attitude.

Senator JD Vance (R-OH) didn’t hold back when responding to billionaire Mark Cuban’s recent jab at former President Trump, in which Cuban claimed Trump “never” surrounds himself with “strong, intelligent women.” In a Sirius XM interview with Breitbart’s Matt Boyle, Vance called Cuban’s remarks “insulting” and took the opportunity to defend his wife, Lara Trump, and other accomplished women who stand with Trump and his policies.

Cuban’s comment sparked a backlash among Trump supporters who felt the statement unfairly stereotyped female voters and ignored the many influential women who have stood by Trump and his administration. “It’s insulting my wife, who’s a very strong and very intelligent woman,” Vance said, pointing out that his wife frequently campaigns with him. Vance continued, “It’s insulting to Lara Trump, who’s done an incredible job as co-chair of the RNC. It’s insulting to Melania, who has the number one New York Times bestselling book right now.” Vance stressed that rather than engage in character attacks, the focus should be on public policy aimed at improving lives.

For Vance, this rhetoric reveals a wider trend among Democrats, who increasingly rely on dismissive insults to undermine Trump supporters. “Whether it’s Mark Cuban or Kamala Harris, or Joe Biden why are these people so preoccupied with denigrating and insulting and condescending their fellow citizens?” Vance asked. His comments resonate with millions of Americans frustrated by an administration whose policies, particularly on border control and the economy, have had serious impacts on working families. “If you are pissed off that Kamala Harris opened the border, you have every right. If you’re frustrated that Kamala Harris’ policies have made it impossible for you to afford the price of a home, you have every right.”

The uproar over Cuban’s comment comes on the heels of President Biden’s recent insult directed at Trump supporters, calling them “garbage” during a virtual event with Latino supporters. Biden, referring to a controversial joke made at a Trump rally, doubled down, saying, “The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters… his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American.” The inflammatory language has only fueled the growing rift between the Biden-Harris administration and Trump’s base, many of whom see these remarks as out of touch with everyday Americans.

Following backlash, Cuban posted a clarification on X, trying to walk back his remarks, stating, “I know many strong, intelligent women voting for Trump.” Cuban added that his point was more about Trump’s interactions with women in professional settings, where he believes Trump doesn’t handle “being challenged publicly.” Cuban cited Nikki Haley, whom he believes would confront Trump on issues like reproductive rights, saying, “I’m certainly not saying female voters are not smart, strong, and intelligent.” Despite his attempt to soften the statement, many found Cuban’s remarks dismissive of the diverse coalition of female Trump supporters who don’t fit the left’s stereotype.

Vance’s sharp response captures the sentiment of many conservative voters who have grown weary of condescending attacks from left-wing elites. Trump supporters, both men and women, are not only tired of the media and political establishment’s derision, but they’re also motivated by policies and values that prioritize American prosperity and family-centered solutions. This isn’t just about individual comments or personalities; for many, it’s a deeper ideological divide between a ruling class that dismisses middle America and a movement determined to restore dignity and opportunity for all citizens.
