Usha Vance to Represent U.S. as Head of Delegation at 2025 Special Olympic Winter Games

Second Lady will represent the United States at the global event in Italy.

Second Lady Usha Vance will lead the U.S. presidential delegation to the 2025 Special Olympics Winter Games in Turin, Italy, marking a significant moment for the administration as it highlights its commitment to athletic excellence and inclusion.

A statement from the Office of the Second Lady confirmed that Vance, along with her delegation, will join approximately 1,500 Special Olympic athletes from over 100 nations as they compete in a variety of events, including skating, snowboarding, and floorball.

“The Second Lady plans to attend several events, including the Opening Ceremony, and will support the American athletes as they compete for gold,” the statement read. The delegation will return to the U.S. on March 10, 2025.

Among the notable members of the presidential delegation are:

  • Rachel Campos-Duffy, Fox News host and wife of U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy

  • Boris Epshteyn, Trump advisor

  • Riley M. Barnes, U.S. State Department official

  • Richard Walters, FGS Global

This delegation reflects a blend of administration officials, diplomats, and prominent conservative voices, underscoring the administration’s effort to celebrate American athletes on the world stage.

Usha Vance, wife of Vice President JD Vance, has quickly emerged as a graceful yet influential presence in the new administration. The couple, married for 11 years, has three children Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel and has been praised for maintaining a strong family dynamic amid the demands of public life.

A recent viral video of their family visit to France captured a candid moment of their 5-year-old son, Vivek, impatiently asking for chicken nuggets while the family toured the newly restored Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The humorous and relatable parenting moment won praise across social media, with many noting that the Vances represent an authentic American family in leadership.

  • “The 5-year-old who will absolutely not stop asking questions in church is the realest,” journalist Emily Zanotti quipped.

  • “It’s nice to see an average American family dynamic in leadership,” wrote Brianna Lyman.

With Usha Vance taking a leading role on the world stage and JD Vance balancing high-level diplomacy with fatherhood, the second family continues to offer a refreshing contrast to the out-of-touch elites that have long dominated Washington.
