Trump Pledges to Oust Military Commanders Promoting ‘Insulting’ Woke Agendas

Promises to remove commanders pushing radical policies and hold them accountable for Afghanistan disaster.

At a rally in North Carolina on Wednesday, former President Donald Trump made a bold promise to remove military commanders who have pushed what he described as “insulting” woke policies under the Biden-Harris administration. Speaking at the North Carolina Aviation Museum and Hall of Fame in Asheboro, Trump laid out his vision for restoring the U.S. military to its core mission: defending the nation.

This rally marked Trump’s first outdoor event since an assassination attempt last month in Butler, Pennsylvania. Addressing the crowd from behind bulletproof glass, Trump didn’t mince words about his plans to rid the military of what he called the "radical social experiments" that have taken root under the current administration.

Key Points:

  • Trump promised to remove military commanders who have implemented woke policies like Critical Race Theory and transgender initiatives.

  • He warned that a Harris presidency would continue the radicalization of the military, leading to further weakening of America’s defense capabilities.

  • Trump pledged to demand the resignations of those responsible for the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, holding them accountable for the loss of American lives and equipment.

“Under ‘Comrade Kamala,’ our military has been abused for radical social experiments,” Trump declared. He vowed that on day one of his presidency, he would eliminate Critical Race Theory and transgender policies from the U.S. Armed Forces. “Our warriors should be focused on defeating America’s enemies, not figuring out their genders,” he asserted, criticizing the impact of these policies on military readiness.

Trump also addressed the broader implications of these initiatives, pointing to reports from House Republicans that highlight how DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) policies and LGBT initiatives have weakened the U.S. Military. For instance, a report from U.S. Special Forces claimed that “diversity and inclusion are operational imperatives”—a claim Trump vehemently rejected.

“If you want to have a sex change or a social justice seminar, then you can do it somewhere else,” Trump said, making it clear that such activities would not be tolerated in the military under his leadership. He further promised that the military commanders who have championed these policies would be swiftly removed from their positions. “They’re going to be gone, gone so fast,” he assured the audience.

The former president also took the opportunity to address the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, which he described as one of the greatest military blunders in U.S. history. He pledged that, if elected, he would demand the resignations of every senior military official involved in the withdrawal. “I want their resignations immediately,” Trump stated, holding the Biden administration accountable for the chaos and loss of life that ensued.

North Carolina, a state Trump carried in both 2016 and 2020, remains a critical battleground in the upcoming 2024 election. With Trump’s focus on reversing the Biden administration’s military policies, his message is likely to resonate with voters concerned about national security and the direction of the U.S. military.
