Trump Secures 50 Million Barrels of Venezuelan Oil After Capture of Maduro
With socialist leadership collapsing, Venezuela's oil begins flowing back under Trump’s command.

In a move that underscores both strength and strategic leadership, President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that Venezuela’s interim government will transfer between 30 and 50 million barrels of high-quality oil to the United States. This development comes just days after Trump declared U.S. control over Venezuela and its oil reserves following the capture of former dictator Nicolás Maduro.
Trump, speaking directly to the American people, confirmed the oil would be sold at market price with proceeds overseen by the U.S. to benefit both Americans and the people of Venezuela.
“This Oil will be sold at its Market Price, and that money will be controlled by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!” Trump stated.
This is more than just an oil deal. It's a turning point. For decades, Venezuela's vast natural wealth has been plundered by corrupt socialist regimes. Once a thriving oil giant, Venezuela now produces only 900,000 to 1.1 million barrels per day down from 3 million per day before Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro decimated the economy.
Here’s what this oil transfer means for the U.S. and the region:
Immediate supply relief: The 30–50 million barrels represent 1.5 to 2.5 days of U.S. consumption, helping to stabilize domestic reserves and market pricing.
Strategic control: With Trump directly overseeing revenue from the sale, this ensures the money goes toward rebuilding Venezuela while shielding it from corrupt hands.
Foreign policy strength: This bold move sends a clear message to socialist regimes worldwide America is back in control and won’t tolerate tyrants.
Venezuela’s new interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, initially issued fiery condemnations following Maduro’s capture but has since changed her tune, calling for “balanced and respectful” relations with the U.S. Her about-face is no surprise, given that Trump’s decisive actions forced her hand.
Rodríguez, once described by Maduro as a “tiger,” is no friend to liberty. She’s been sanctioned by both the U.S. and EU for her role in propping up the Maduro regime. Opposition leader María Corina Machado warned that Rodríguez is just as dangerous, calling her one of the “main architects of torture, persecution, corruption, and narco trafficking.”
“Certainly not an individual that could be trusted by international investors,” Machado noted. “She’s really rejected, repudiated by the Venezuelan people.”
And despite the supposed transition in leadership, pro-Maduro paramilitary thugs known as the “Colectivos” remain active. On Tuesday, they roamed the streets in plainclothes, stopping vehicles, searching citizens’ phones, and hunting down anyone suspected of supporting Trump’s move against Maduro. Police were reportedly instructed to arrest anyone linked to the U.S. operation.
So while Trump takes real steps toward freeing Venezuela from socialist tyranny, the deep state within that country isn’t going quietly. But one thing is clear: America, under Trump, is no longer negotiating from weakness.
The oil is just the beginning. As the dust settles, the people of Venezuela may finally have a real shot at freedom and America gets a leader who puts our interests first.
