Trump Arrives in UAE With Fighter Jet Escort, Secures Final Deals on Middle East Tour
Welcomed with ceremonial hair dances and military honors, Trump caps off historic Gulf trip with major investments and regional diplomacy.

President Donald Trump landed in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday to a grand reception, complete with fighter jet escorts, traditional Emirati hair dances, and ceremonial music marking the final leg of his high-stakes Middle East tour that has already reshaped U.S. policy and economic influence in the region.
“This new framework will substantially increase the UAE’s existing investments in the U.S. economy in AI infrastructure, semiconductors, energy, and American manufacturing,” the White House announced.
Trump was greeted by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi and toured the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, continuing a series of diplomatic engagements that have resulted in massive economic and defense breakthroughs.
The Highlights So Far:
$142 billion defense deal with Saudi Arabia, the largest in U.S. history
$3 billion defense agreement with Qatar, including drones and cutting-edge counter-drone systems
$200 billion in Boeing aircraft sales
Restoration of U.S.-Syria diplomatic contact, including an unprecedented meeting with President Ahmed al-Sharaa
$1.4 trillion UAE investment commitment in American energy, AI, and manufacturing over the next decade
Trump’s strong relationship with the UAE dates back to his first term, when he successfully brokered the Abraham Accords, normalizing diplomatic ties between the Gulf country and Israel.
The UAE visit included a dazzling reception featuring a traditional women's hair dance, military honor guards, and a high-level economic summit with Emirati officials. The pageantry was matched only by the seriousness of Trump’s agenda: strategic partnerships, economic leverage, and American strength on full display.
“America is back, respected again,” one senior White House official told reporters traveling with the president.
While Trump was commanding the region’s attention, Russia’s Vladimir Putin snubbed direct negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Turkey a development Trump’s team noted as “unsurprising” given Trump’s absence at the talks.
“I actually said, why would [Putin] go if I’m not going?” Trump remarked during a roundtable in Doha. “It’s not possible.”
As Zelensky fumed in Istanbul and Russia dismissed him as a “clown and loser,” Trump continued to solidify alliances, secure massive economic wins, and lay the groundwork for lasting peace through diplomacy rooted in strength and leverage not endless appeasement.
Perhaps the most symbolic move came in Saudi Arabia, where Trump met with Syria’s new president and announced the lifting of U.S. sanctions, offering Syria “a chance at greatness” and stability after years of civil war.
“In Syria, which has seen so much misery and death, there is a new government that will hopefully succeed in stabilizing the country and keeping peace,” Trump said.
Trump’s four-day Gulf tour has stood in stark contrast to the Biden administration’s approach weak, hesitant, and plagued by confusion. In just days, Trump forged alliances, reopened diplomatic doors, and secured more American investment than any sitting president in recent memory.
From Saudi Arabia to Qatar to the UAE, one message was clear: America leads again when Trump is at the helm.
