Trump Overtakes Harris in Post-Debate Internal Poll

Voters in key swing states favor Trump after a lackluster performance from Kamala Harris.

Following a pivotal presidential debate, former President Donald Trump has surged ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris in a recent internal poll, signaling a shift in voter sentiment across key battleground states. Conducted by renowned pollster Tony Fabrizio, the poll reveals Trump’s significant post-debate gains, leaving Harris struggling to keep up.

The poll, which focused on voters in seven crucial swing states, shows Trump gaining momentum while Harris’s numbers stagnate. According to the Trump campaign memo, "Despite the best efforts of Kamala Harris and the media to portray the debate as a victory for her, voters did not see it that way." Harris's flat performance in these decisive states only cemented Trump’s advantage, giving him a post-debate bump of 2 points.

Key findings from the poll:

  • Pre-debate, the race was tied, with both Trump and Harris polling at 48% each.

  • Post-debate, Trump now leads Harris 48-46% in a ballot that includes all other candidates.

  • In a head-to-head matchup, Trump widened his lead to 50-47%, reflecting a 3-point jump for Trump and a 1-point drop for Harris.

The poll also included third-party candidates like Green Party’s Jill Stein, Independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Libertarian Chase Oliver. Despite their inclusion, Harris failed to capitalize on the debate’s exposure, while Trump’s clear messaging appeared to resonate with undecided voters.

As the election draws closer, it’s evident that Kamala Harris’s performance did little to sway critical voters. Trump, on the other hand, continues to position himself as the candidate with momentum. With his growing lead in the polls, the path to victory seems clearer than ever for the former president.
