Trump Vows to Sue Wall Street Journal Over ‘Fake’ Epstein Letter Claims

The former president blasts the WSJ for “phony” reporting and orders AG Pam Bondi to push for Epstein testimony unsealing.

President Donald Trump is threatening legal action against the Wall Street Journal after it published explosive and, according to Trump, false claims linking him to Jeffrey Epstein. The paper alleged that Trump had written a bizarre birthday letter to Epstein, featuring a hand-drawn outline of a naked woman. Trump immediately denounced the report as “FAKE” and vowed to sue.

“This is not me. This is a fake thing,” Trump told the publication before its report went live. Hours later, he released a statement warning that NewsCorp, the Wall Street Journal, and its owner Rupert Murdoch would face legal consequences. “President Trump will be suing the Wall Street Journal, NewsCorp, and Mr. Murdoch, shortly,” the statement read.

The Wall Street Journal claimed to have reviewed the alleged letter, which it says was part of a leather-bound “birthday book” for Epstein. Yet the outlet failed to release any images of the supposed letter, and neither the DOJ nor the FBI has confirmed its authenticity.

Trump’s response was blunt “If this letter were real, it would have been revealed by Comey, Brennan, Crooked Hillary, and other Radical Left lunatics years ago,” he said, calling the story “yet another example of FAKE NEWS!”

Beyond pushing back on the WSJ’s claims, Trump directed his attorney general, Pam Bondi, to file for the release of all grand jury testimony connected to the Epstein investigation. “I’ve asked AG Bondi to release any and all credible evidence regarding Epstein that a court will allow,” Trump stated.

Bondi echoed his urgency “We’re ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts.”

Trump insists that the Biden DOJ, which has had full access to the so-called “Epstein files,” has been less than forthcoming with the public. He has also pointed out that the media hysteria over Epstein is driven by those hoping to tarnish his presidency.

Epstein’s ties to powerful figures have fueled conspiracy theories for years, but Trump has repeatedly denied any connection to Epstein’s criminal activities. While the two were acquaintances in New York during the 1990s, their friendship ended long before Epstein’s 2006 charges involving minors.

Despite attacks from the media and political opponents, Trump’s standing with Republican voters remains solid. Recent polling indicates his approval rating among GOP voters has actually risen since the latest Epstein headlines, suggesting that voters see the media’s focus on Epstein as a political hit job rather than legitimate journalism.

If Trump follows through on his lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal, it will add to his growing legal battles with mainstream media outlets he accuses of spreading misinformation. The case could also force the Journal to produce evidence of the alleged letter if it exists at all.

Trump’s message remains clear: he will not allow the media or political opponents to smear him with false allegations.
