At the World Economic Forum, Trump Pledges a ‘Common Sense Revolution’

President highlights sweeping reforms to reverse Biden-era policies and boost U.S. prosperity.

President Donald Trump delivered a fiery speech to the World Economic Forum on Thursday, vowing to lead what he called a “revolution of common sense” to restore economic strength and global stability. Speaking virtually, Trump criticized the Biden administration for its failures on energy, spending, and the economy, while outlining his administration’s swift action to reverse those policies.

“What the world has witnessed in the past 72 hours is nothing less than a revolution of common sense,” Trump declared. “Our country will soon be stronger, wealthier, and more united than ever before, and the entire planet will be more peaceful and prosperous as a result of this incredible momentum.”

Trump lambasted former President Joe Biden’s handling of the economy, citing $8 trillion in “wasteful deficit spending,” record-high inflation, and “crippling regulations” as primary drivers of economic chaos.

“My administration is acting with unprecedented speed to fix the disasters we’ve inherited from a totally inept group of people,” Trump said, listing executive orders targeting key issues such as:

  • Energy: Declaring a national energy emergency, withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accords, and ending Biden’s electric vehicle mandate.

  • Government Spending: Enacting a federal hiring freeze and creating the Department of Government Efficiency to eliminate waste.

  • Foreign Aid: Pausing foreign aid programs deemed unnecessary.

  • Regulations: Imposing a freeze to prevent further economic damage.

Trump emphasized his commitment to bolstering the U.S. economy by incentivizing businesses to manufacture products domestically.

“My message to every business in the world is very simple: come make your product in America and we will give you among the lowest taxes of any nation on earth,” he said. “But if you don’t make your product in America, then very simply, you will have to pay a tariff.”

The president also urged Saudi Arabia to lower oil prices, underscoring his focus on energy independence and affordability for American consumers.
Trump closed his speech with a vision for a brighter future, promising a more unified and prosperous America. “From the moment I took office, I’ve taken rapid action to reverse each and every one of these Radical Left policies that created this calamity. This begins with confronting the economic chaos caused by the failed policies of the last administration,” he said.

With sweeping reforms already underway, Trump assured the global audience that his administration’s decisive actions would benefit not only the United States but the entire world.
