Trump-Vance Team Shares First Look at Trump’s Oval Office 2.0

A blend of tradition and boldness defines Trump’s newly reimagined workspace.

President Donald Trump, joined by Vice President J.D. Vance, unveiled the updated design of the Oval Office as part of his second term in office. Images and details released on Monday reveal a striking blend of tradition, boldness, and personal touches that reflect Trump’s leadership style and values.

The redecorated space prominently features a portrait of President Andrew Jackson, drawn from the White House art collection, alongside Benjamin Franklin’s portrait a remnant from President Joe Biden’s Oval Office that Trump chose to keep. Positioned under Jackson’s portrait is “The Bronco Buster,” a Frederic Remington sculpture that adorned Trump’s office during his first term.

Key Updates to the Oval Office

  • Return of Military Pride: Trump reinstated flags representing every branch of the U.S. military, which had been removed during Biden’s presidency. These symbols flank the room, highlighting his administration's focus on honoring America’s armed forces.

  • Restoration of Iconic Busts: The bust of Winston Churchill, removed under Biden, has returned to a prominent spot near the fireplace. A bust of Martin Luther King Jr. remains in the room, reflecting a commitment to historical recognition across presidencies.

  • Rug Swap: Within minutes of Biden’s departure, his blue rug was replaced with Trump’s neutral-toned version. The swap required dismantling part of the Resolute Desk due to the rug's size a process completed just before Trump entered the office.

  • Diet Coke Button Returns: A fan favorite from Trump’s first term, the Diet Coke valet button has made a comeback, sitting atop the Resolute Desk for quick beverage requests.

While many changes were made, some elements of Trump’s first Oval Office remain untouched. Portraits of founding fathers Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, along with George Washington’s iconic painting above the fireplace, were left in place.

The coffee table near the fireplace now features a bouquet of fresh flowers and a square gold paperweight embossed with “Trump,” underscoring the president’s unmistakable branding.

Each president has left their unique mark on the Oval Office, and Trump’s redesign is no exception. Whether it’s Barack Obama’s bowl of apples or Biden’s choice of deep blue tones, the changes reflect the leader’s personality and priorities.

Trump’s 2.0 Oval Office strikes a balance between honoring American history and asserting the bold style that defines his leadership. The space is now ready for a presidency that promises action, patriotism, and a return to the principles of putting America first.
