Trump Says Mexico’s President Too Afraid to Let U.S. Fight Cartels

As fentanyl deaths soar and cartels tighten their grip, Trump slams Mexico’s leadership for rejecting U.S. military aid out of fear.

President Donald Trump didn’t hold back this weekend when he called out Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum for refusing U.S. military assistance to crush the murderous drug cartels that have devastated both American and Mexican communities.

“She’s so afraid of the cartels she can’t even think straight,” Trump said. “The cartels are trying to destroy our country. They are evil!”

And he’s absolutely right.

After it was revealed that Trump offered to send in American forces to take on the cartels, Sheinbaum proudly rejected the help, claiming that allowing U.S. troops into Mexico would violate their “sovereignty.”

“Sovereignty is not for sale,” she said. “We can work together, but you in your territory and us in ours.”

That’s a noble-sounding excuse for cowardice. The truth is simple: Sheinbaum is terrified of the cartels, and instead of fighting them, she’s letting them call the shots while her citizens suffer and Americans die by the hundreds of thousands from fentanyl flooding across the southern border.

Trump laid it out plainly:

  • Over 300,000 Americans died last year due to fentanyl and other drugs most of which flow across the wide-open southern border controlled by cartel networks.

  • Cartels aren’t just drug traffickers they’re human smugglers, extortionists, and foreign terrorist organizations. Trump officially gave them that designation and vowed to “wage war” on them.

  • Under Biden, border enforcement has all but collapsed. More than 7 million illegal immigrants have entered the U.S. since 2021, many brought in under cartel control.

This is a national security crisis, and the Mexican government’s refusal to cooperate is unacceptable. Trump’s plan isn’t about invading Mexico it’s about stopping a clear and present danger that’s killing Americans and destabilizing both nations.

Yet what do we get from the Biden administration? Half-hearted lectures and empty “partnership” talk. Even as National Security Council spokesman James Hewitt admitted that cartels still threaten U.S. communities, there’s no serious action just words.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to lead. He’s offered real solutions: military support, border security, and the political will to actually take on the cartels. And he made it clear if Mexico won’t fight them, America must.

“If Mexico wanted help with the cartels, we would be honored to go in and do it.”

But thanks to leftist leadership south of the border and appeasement in the White House, the cartels are more emboldened than ever.

Trump’s clarity and courage stand in stark contrast to Biden’s weakness and Sheinbaum’s fear. The fentanyl crisis is a war and only one side is willing to fight it.
