Trump Announces New ‘Liberation Day’ Tariffs
President delivers historic economic counterstrike to global freeloaders and reclaims American industrial power.

President Donald Trump officially declared April 2, 2025, as “Liberation Day” a new chapter in the battle to restore America’s economic sovereignty. In a bold and unapologetic move, Trump signed an executive order from the White House Rose Garden imposing reciprocal tariffs on foreign nations that have exploited U.S. markets for decades.
Standing before a crowd that included Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, and UAW workers, Trump held up a poster displaying tariff rates that will now match or exceed those imposed on American goods. From China and India to the European Union, the message was loud and clear: America is done being ripped off.
“My fellow Americans, this is Liberation Day,” Trump announced. “April 2, 2025 will forever be remembered as the day American industry was reborn… the day that we began to make America wealthy again.”
And with that, the president officially triggered reciprocal tariffs on all imports with a baseline rate of 10%. Countries like the U.K. and Brazil, which impose 10% tariffs on American goods, will now be hit with equal tariffs. Others, like the EU, which slaps a 39% average tariff on U.S. exports, will face a 20% retaliation.
For American workers, it’s the kind of long-overdue justice that globalists have denied them for years:
The U.S. trade deficit with the EU stood at $235.6 billion in 2024. For decades, our so-called allies sold us goods with high tariffs and got a free pass on theirs.
Foreign automakers have flooded our market while U.S. car companies faced massive penalties overseas. Starting now, 25% tariffs on foreign cars will level the playing field.
Nations like Israel and Vietnam have already responded positively removing or reducing tariffs on U.S. goods to maintain access to the American market.
Trump didn’t hold back, blasting past administrations and globalist trade deals:
“Our country has been looted, pillaged, raped, and plundered by nations near and far, both friend and foe alike… Our steel workers, auto workers, farmers, and skilled craftsmen they really suffered gravely.”
And he's not wrong. Globalism gutted America’s industrial base and outsourced jobs to nations that laugh all the way to the bank. With Liberation Day, Trump is turning the tables.
What’s more, this isn't just about trade it's national security. Trump made clear that tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada will remain in place until they take real action to stem the flow of drugs and illegal immigration.
“We are going to produce the cars, ships, chips, airplanes, minerals, and medicines we need right here in America,” he declared.
Liberation Day marks a turning point not just in economics, but in America’s broader struggle to reclaim its destiny from global control. And the world knows it. While some foreign leaders panic and threaten retaliation, others are coming to the table. Because they understand what Trump just reminded the world America holds the cards now.
