Donald Trump Jr. Denounces ‘Witch Hunt’ Trial Amid Biden Campaign Rally

Biden's Political Event During Trump Trial Highlights Election Interference Claims

Donald Trump Jr. fiercely criticized the ongoing criminal trial against his father, former President Donald Trump, in New York, labeling it a “witch hunt” orchestrated by political opponents. The controversy escalated as President Joe Biden’s campaign held a political rally across the street from the courthouse, adding fuel to claims of election interference.

The Biden campaign's event, strategically timed with the trial's closing arguments, featured actor Robert De Niro, known for his harsh criticisms of Trump. De Niro’s speech painted a dire picture of a future under Trump, suggesting that his re-election would lead to the end of democratic freedoms.

“Under Trump, this kind of government will perish from the Earth,” De Niro declared. “If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted. And elections? Forget about them. That’s over, that’s done. If he gets in, I can tell you right now, he will never leave. He will never leave.”

Speaking to reporters near the courthouse, Trump Jr. highlighted the irony and political motivation behind the Biden campaign's actions.

“The fact that they’re holding a rally across the street from this very witch hunt, right across the street, tells us exactly what we all knew all along, that it is a political persecution,” Trump Jr. stated. “It is a witch hunt. There is a reason one of the people sitting at that desk was the number three person in Joe Biden’s DOJ. I know my father is not allowed to say ‘Matthew Colangelo’ is his name, because he’s been gagged. The President of the United States is not allowed to exercise his First Amendment rights in New York City in this day and age.”
