Trump Admin Makes Global Moves as Vance Closes India Trade Deal and Rubio Overhauls State Dept
Aggressive diplomatic resets, tariff relief, and a drop in food prices mark a new phase in America First governance.

The Trump administration is aggressively reasserting America’s economic and diplomatic priorities, forging ahead with international trade deals, gutting bloated bureaucracies, and delivering long-overdue relief at the grocery store.
In a major development, Vice President JD Vance announced a breakthrough in trade negotiations with India, one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed a sweeping overhaul of the State Department that slashes unnecessary spending and dismantles Obama-era globalist initiatives. And in good news for American consumers, egg prices are finally dropping as Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins credits Trump’s strategic reforms.
Trump’s economic team is locking in a major trade deal with India America’s ninth-largest trading partner as part of a broader push to rebalance foreign trade relationships. Last year alone, the U.S. ran a $45 billion trade deficit with India. But that may soon change.
Vance, fresh off a four-day trip to New Delhi, said the two countries are finalizing the framework of a deal that could double bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030.
“We’re building durable supply chains and creating new jobs for both countries,” Vance stated. “If a deal isn’t struck, tariffs on Indian goods could rise to 26% so there’s serious incentive to get this right.”
The negotiations come on the heels of Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs, a hardball tactic that has already forced nearly 130 countries to the table to seek fairer trade terms with the United States.
While Vance reshapes trade abroad, Rubio is overhauling diplomacy at home.
In a bold move, Rubio announced a 15% reduction in U.S.-based staff at the State Department and the elimination of more than 130 redundant or ideologically driven offices. His goal? Refocus the agency on strategic competition and core national interests.
Key cuts include:
The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, accused of pushing progressive ideology in conservative nations like Hungary and Poland.
The Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, tied to funding mass immigration NGOs.
“This department has become bloated and beholden to radical ideology,” Rubio wrote. “It’s time to bring diplomacy into the 21st century.”
He also proposed a new Bureau of Emerging Threats, focused on AI, cybersecurity, and strategic tech competition with adversaries like China.
While America’s diplomats and trade officials make moves abroad, back home, egg prices are finally plummeting.
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins says Trump’s “Five-Point Egg Plan” is working. Wholesale egg prices have dropped 58% since Trump took office, correcting the massive inflation spike under Biden where prices surged 237%.
“The Biden era created a $50 billion agricultural trade deficit. That’s unacceptable,” Rollins said. “We’re correcting that and rebuilding the market for American farmers.”
With the IMF now projecting U.S. GDP growth of 1.8% for 2025 down from 2.8% in January analysts note that much depends on how long Trump keeps tariffs in play. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent hinted at a coming “de-escalation”, but emphasized that fair trade must come first.
From restructuring international trade to cleaning up bloated bureaucracies to delivering real relief to American families, the Trump administration is proving that a government focused on America First priorities can drive real change.
