Trump Says Hamas Must Be Destroyed for Hostages to Return

President Trump backs Israel’s offensive, slams ceasefire calls as naive while hostages remain in captivity.

President Donald Trump made it crystal clear on Monday as long as Hamas remains standing, the remaining hostages in Gaza won’t be coming home.

“We will only see the return of remaining hostages when Hamas is confronted and destroyed!!! The sooner this takes place, the better the chances of success will be,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

This is what leadership looks like direct, unambiguous, and grounded in reality. While the international media and far-left activists push for endless ceasefires that only serve to prop up terrorist regimes, Trump is siding with strength and clarity: no peace without victory.

His message came on the heels of widespread protests in Tel Aviv, where hundreds of thousands of Israelis, including families of hostages, demonstrated against Prime Minister Netanyahu’s expansion of the military campaign in Gaza. But for Trump, there’s no confusion about how to secure the hostages’ release you don’t negotiate with terrorists, you eliminate them.

“Remember, I was the one who negotiated and got hundreds of hostages freed and released into Israel (and America!),” he added. “Play to WIN, or don’t play at all!”

That’s not just bluster. During his first term, Trump secured multiple hostage releases from countries like North Korea, Turkey, and Iran without sending pallets of cash or bending the knee to extremists.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to move forward with a plan to occupy and clear Gaza of Hamas, stating his goal is to remove the terror group entirely and transition power to an Arab-led civilian government that isn’t linked to the Palestinian Authority or other radical factions.

“We don’t want to govern it. We want to hand it over to Arab forces that will govern it properly without threatening us,” Netanyahu told Fox News.

Here’s the reality no one on the left wants to say out loud:

  • Hamas has rejected every recent ceasefire proposal, using each pause to regroup and rearm.

  • Over 50 hostages remain in captivity, likely including American citizens.

  • Israel now controls roughly 75% of the Gaza Strip, with plans to fully occupy Gaza City before the October 7 anniversary of Hamas’s massacre.

Even some Palestinians are turning against Hamas, recognizing that the group’s violent rule holds not only Israeli hostages, but millions of Gazans hostage as well.

And yet, Joe Biden and his administration continue to send mixed signals condemning Hamas on one hand, while quietly pressuring Israel to pull back. It’s the same weak, confused foreign policy that gave us a resurgent Iran, an empowered Taliban, and now a Gaza conflict spiraling out of control.

Trump’s message is different. It’s simple: defeat the terrorists, secure the hostages, and restore peace through strength, not surrender.
