‘You Have To Fight Like Hell’: Trump Talks 2024 Election, Transgender Athletes, and Resilience on ‘Bussin’ With The Boys’

Trump reflects on uniting America, handling lawfare, and fighting back against the left’s radical agenda

In a wide-ranging interview on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, former President Donald Trump covered everything from the 2024 election to the absurdity of allowing transgender athletes in women’s sports. Released on Tuesday, the conversation touched on key issues facing the nation, including Trump’s ongoing resilience in the face of constant legal battles and assassination attempts.

The hosts kicked things off by asking Trump how he planned to unite the country, given the current deep divide. Trump acknowledged the challenge but remained optimistic, pointing out that “success will bring the country together.”

“You want to see the country united,” Trump said. “But we have two very different [sides]. You have a very conservative side and then you have people that want to see an open border and things.” He added that some of the left’s positions, such as men playing in women’s sports, are so extreme that it's impossible to find common ground. “I don’t think I could ever say I’m thrilled about that,” Trump remarked, reflecting on how dangerous it is to allow biological men to compete against women.

Trump brought up the recent controversy surrounding the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, where two transgender athletes who failed chromosome tests were allowed to compete in women’s boxing. “Both won gold medals,” Trump said, highlighting how the integrity of women’s sports is being compromised. “You saw the one young Italian girl get hit a couple of times... she got hit very hard. But she’s fighting a man.”

The conversation turned to Trump’s 2024 presidential run, where he doubled down on his belief that economic success and strong leadership would bridge the divides in America. Trump said that under his leadership, the country was on a path to unity before the COVID-19 pandemic hit. “Despite the fact that... there were divisions, I’m telling you, the country was coming together,” he said. “Everything was like perfect, and the country was coming together.”

Later in the interview, Trump reflected on the unrelenting attacks against him, including assassination attempts and ongoing legal challenges. He revealed that these hardships haven’t broken him on the contrary, they’ve made him more popular. “Everything they’ve done to me has made me popular,” Trump said, crediting his rise in popularity to his refusal to back down. “I try not to think about it. … I just say, screw it. Whatever happens, happens.”

He emphasized the importance of fighting back against the left’s relentless attacks on him and his supporters, delivering a message to the audience: “You have to fight like hell and try not to let it get you down.” Trump’s message of resilience, strength, and fighting back has resonated with millions of Americans, especially as the 2024 election approaches.

As Trump gears up for a rematch with the Biden-Harris ticket, his appearance on Bussin’ with the Boys showcased the former president’s determination to continue battling against the radical left, while also providing a glimpse into his optimistic vision for America's future.
