Trump Announces He Won’t Face Kamala in Another Debate

Former President rejects a second debate, calling out biased moderation and Harris' failures.

Former President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will not participate in another debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, despite her call for a rematch. Trump’s decision follows their heated face-off earlier this week, during which the moderators faced criticism for going easy on Harris while challenging Trump.

“When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH,’” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. He confidently claimed victory in the debate, referring to Harris as the Democrats’ “Radical Left Candidate.” Trump emphasized that Harris has no grounds for a second debate, adding, “KAMALA SHOULD FOCUS ON WHAT SHE SHOULD HAVE DONE DURING THE LAST ALMOST FOUR YEAR PERIOD. THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!”

Key points from Trump’s statement:

  • Trump criticized Harris for her role in the Biden administration’s disastrous handling of the border, the economy, and rising crime.

  • He claimed that Harris only wants another debate because she lost the first one, despite some polls suggesting Harris performed well.

  • Trump suggested he might have debated again “if it was on a fair network,” but made it clear that he’s no longer interested.

The former president took the opportunity to slam both Harris and President Joe Biden, reminding voters of the destruction caused by the Democratic leadership. He blasted them for allowing unchecked illegal immigration, soaring inflation, and other problems plaguing the country. “Everyone knows this,” Trump added, calling out the moderators for failing to hold Harris accountable on these issues.

Vice President Harris, who immediately called for another debate following the event, said on X, “We owe it to the voters to have another debate.” Her campaign chairwoman, Jen O’Malley, echoed that sentiment, arguing that Americans need to see the stark contrast between Harris’s policies and Trump’s vision for the country.

Despite Harris’s eagerness for a second debate, it’s clear that Trump has no intention of giving her a platform again. With Trump’s refusal, the next major political showdown will be between their running mates, Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Republican Senator JD Vance, in a vice-presidential debate on October 1.

As the election nears, the stakes are high, and both sides are fighting for every voter. But for Trump, another debate with Kamala Harris isn’t in the cards. The focus now shifts to the larger campaign, where Trump continues to lead the charge against a failed administration.
