Trump Refuses to Drop Tariffs to Entice China

President Trump stands firm, warning China’s collapsing economy won’t earn them concessions as America prepares for a manufacturing resurgence.

President Donald Trump has once again made it clear China will not be getting a free ride back to the negotiating table. In a no-nonsense interview from Mar-a-Lago, Trump declared that tariffs will remain in place until Beijing accepts fair terms on America’s terms.

“They said today they want to talk. Look, China… is getting killed right now,” Trump told NBC’s Kristen Welker. “Factories are closing. Their unemployment is going through the roof.”

And while globalists and left-wing media may clutch their pearls, Trump isn’t budging. He confirmed flatly, “**No**,” when asked if he would drop tariffs to lure China into talks.

That’s the kind of backbone the American economy has lacked for decades.

For years, China has manipulated trade, stolen intellectual property, and siphoned off American jobs while D.C. politicians looked the other way. Trump’s America-first economic policies are finally reversing that trend and he’s not backing down just to appease the Chinese Communist Party or their lobbyists in Washington.

  • China’s industrial production has slumped to levels not seen in decades, and youth unemployment topped 21% before Beijing stopped reporting it altogether.

  • Over $9 trillion in new U.S. investments are expected under Trump’s economic vision.

  • Companies like Apple, Toyota, Honda, General Motors, and Stellantis have already committed billions to build manufacturing plants here in America.

Despite media efforts to stir panic over small business impacts, Trump rightly shifted the conversation to the long-term picture: rebuilding American industry and reducing dependence on adversaries like China. He cited the automotive sector as a prime example, saying large companies "are going to make a fortune" because of the tariff plan.

As for the possibility of a short-term recession? Trump brushed it off without flinching:

“Everything’s okay. We’re going to do fantastically.”

He didn’t deny that “anything can happen,” but his bold prediction is exactly what America needs to hear “We’re going to have the greatest economy in the history of our country.”

Compare that with the Biden administration, which continues to chase climate fantasies and pour taxpayer dollars into foreign interests while letting inflation hammer working families. Trump, on the other hand, is focused on rebuilding America’s industrial base and holding foreign powers accountable starting with China.

By standing firm on tariffs, Trump is sending a loud and clear message the days of economic surrender are over. If China wants access to the U.S. market, they’ll have to play by American rules not the other way around.
