Federal DEI Officials to Be Placed on Leave Under Trump Admin by Tomorrow
Swift action dismantles Biden-era diversity and equity programs.
In a sweeping move to fulfill campaign promises, President Donald Trump’s administration has ordered all federal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) officials to be placed on paid administrative leave by the end of Wednesday. This directive, outlined in a memo from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), is the first step in dismantling DEI initiatives across federal agencies.
The executive order behind this action, titled “Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs,” signals the Trump administration’s commitment to ending what it calls “divisive” policies implemented under the Biden administration.
“President Trump campaigned on ending the scourge of DEI from our federal government and returning America to a merit-based society where people are hired based on their skills, not for the color of their skin,” stated White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The memo instructs agency heads to:
Notify DEI employees of their immediate placement on paid leave.
Close all DEI offices and cancel related programs, training sessions, and contracts.
Remove DEI-related content from official agency social media channels.
Conduct internal audits to identify and end any attempts to disguise DEI initiatives under vague language.
The Biden administration embedded DEI policies throughout federal agencies, taking at least 500 documented actions to institutionalize this far-left ideology, according to a study by Do No Harm. This effort extended into intelligence agencies, the State Department, and even the Pentagon. Programs included pushing Critical Race Theory abroad, funding identity-based initiatives, and conducting training sessions centered on race and gender ideology.
Under Trump’s directive, agencies are required to submit reports detailing all DEI-related activities and contracts for immediate cancellation.
Critics of DEI programs argue that these policies foster division and waste taxpayer dollars. According to the OPM memo, such programs have “divided Americans by race, wasted taxpayer dollars, and resulted in shameful discrimination.”

The State Department funding Critical Race Theory seminars worldwide.
With this executive order, the Trump administration aims to restore merit-based practices in the federal government while curbing the influence of ideologically driven programs. “This is another win for Americans of all races, religions, and creeds,” Leavitt concluded.
