Trudeau Slammed for Dancing While Montreal Erupted in Anti-Semitic Riot
Critics blast Canadian PM for attending a concert as violent extremists wreak havoc in his hometown.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faced heavy backlash this weekend for attending a Taylor Swift concert in Toronto while violent anti-Semitic riots erupted in his hometown of Montreal. As extremists torched vehicles, hurled explosives at police, and committed other acts of violence, Trudeau was hundreds of miles away, enjoying the show.
The riots, organized by far-left, pro-Hamas activists, left Montreal in turmoil as NATO delegates arrived for a high-level summit. Disturbing scenes included:
Cars set ablaze and projectiles thrown at police officers.
An effigy of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu burned in the streets.
Explicitly anti-Semitic acts, raising concerns about rising extremism in Canada.
Trudeau’s delayed response, condemning the violence as “appalling” and calling for accountability, did little to quell criticism.
Trudeau’s absence sparked outrage from opposition leaders. Canadian Parliament Member Melissa Lantsman accused his government of emboldening extremist mobs. “Rioters on a violent rampage and not a single word from our government,” she wrote on social media, sarcastically adding, “Hope the concert was good.”
Conservative opposition leader Pierre Poilievre delivered a scathing rebuke of Trudeau, blaming the riots on the Prime Minister’s divisive leadership.
“This is what happens when a Prime Minister spends 9 years pushing toxic woke identity politics,” Poilievre charged. He accused Trudeau of dismantling Canada’s core identity, erasing national symbols, enabling foreign interference, and fostering an environment where violent extremism thrives.
He concluded with a powerful call to action: “While you were dancing, Montreal was burning… Call an election now. We will fire you and reclaim our citizenship, our values, our lives, our freedom and, most of all, our country.”
The weekend’s chaos and Trudeau’s perceived indifference are part of a growing narrative of frustration with his leadership. Critics point to:
Rising hate crimes, with a 251% increase under his tenure.
Weak immigration enforcement, allowing individuals tied to terrorism to enter Canada.
Pandering to different groups with contradictory messages, eroding trust and unity.
As Canada faces deepening social and political unrest, Trudeau’s decision to prioritize a concert over his city’s crisis underscores the disconnect between his leadership and the concerns of everyday Canadians.
