Tim Walz Exits Minnesota Governor’s Race Amid Fraud Allegations
As federal investigations ramp up, the embattled Democrat blames Trump while ignoring his administration’s own corruption.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz just did what embattled Democrats do best blame Republicans and duck for cover.
After two scandal-ridden terms, Walz announced Monday he will not seek re-election, citing what he called a “sour note” to 2025. But the note isn’t just sour it’s rotten, and it reeks of widespread fraud under his leadership.
Instead of owning up to the mountain of corruption that has piled up during his tenure, Walz lashed out at former President Donald Trump and conservatives, claiming they’re making Minnesota “a colder, meaner place.” That’s quite the accusation from a man whose administration let criminals exploit public programs meant to support families and children.
Let’s look at what’s really behind his sudden departure:
Massive fraud schemes plagued Minnesota under Walz, including the now-infamous Feeding Our Future scandal, where over $250 million in taxpayer funds were stolen through a fake children’s charity.
Daycare program corruption is now under federal investigation, with reports of fake enrollment numbers and missing funds. Even the Department of Justice has stepped in, leveling charges and securing convictions.
Autism treatment fraud added another black eye to Walz’s crumbling administration, involving misused Medicaid dollars and fraudulent billing practices.
These aren’t just clerical errors or minor missteps. These are systematic abuses of taxpayer money and they happened on Walz’s watch.
Instead of accountability, Walz lashed out at journalists and whistleblowers. He even attacked independent journalist Nick Shirley, whose viral video uncovered fraud inside Minnesota’s daycare system. Walz smeared him as a “conspiracy theorist,” because exposing the truth is apparently too threatening to his narrative.
And in classic Democrat fashion, Walz tried to spin his failures into a victim narrative. He claims Trump and conservatives are somehow responsible for his state’s scandals—ignoring the fact that the fraud occurred under his administration and his policies. While billions vanish into fake charities and ghost daycare centers, he’s blaming Washington Republicans for “poisoning” the state.
Here’s what Walz conveniently left out:
Under his leadership, Minnesota’s crime rates surged violent crime increased 21% between 2019 and 2022.
Public trust in government fell sharply, with confidence in state agencies dropping to historic lows in recent surveys.
Meanwhile, Democrat-run cities like Minneapolis are still suffering the economic and social consequences of his weak leadership during the 2020 riots.
Now, with the governor’s mansion up for grabs, Democrats are scrambling. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is rumored to be eyeing the seat, which could trigger even more chaos as Minnesota also faces an open Senate race this fall. Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan and Rep. Angie Craig are both positioning themselves, but none of them have shown they can clean up the disaster Walz is leaving behind.
On the Republican side, the field is forming with serious contenders. House Speaker Lisa Demuth and MyPillow founder Mike Lindell are both in the mix, offering dramatically different visions for Minnesota’s future ones rooted in accountability, not excuses.
The bottom line? Tim Walz didn’t step down out of courage or principle. He’s bailing on a sinking ship, hoping to dodge responsibility for the corruption he allowed to fester. And come November, Minnesotans will have a chance to make sure the Democrat machine doesn’t keep running on autopilot.
