Texas Offers 1,400-Acre Ranch to Aid Trump’s Deportation Plan

Lone Star State backs mass deportations with land for detention facilities near the border.

Texas is stepping up to support President-elect Donald Trump’s sweeping deportation agenda by offering a 1,400-acre ranch for detention facilities. Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham made the proposal in a letter to Trump, offering the land for the “processing, detention, and coordination” of what she called the largest deportation effort in U.S. history.

Located about 35 miles west of McAllen, Texas, near the southern border, the ranch is ideally situated to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Border Patrol in carrying out Trump’s plans. Buckingham expressed full support for Trump’s mission to remove violent criminals who have illegally entered the United States under what she described as the failed policies of President Joe Biden.

Texas Takes the Lead

  • Strategic Location: The Starr County ranch, now owned by the state, is flat farmland suitable for rapid development. It provides easy access to international airports and major river crossings, making it a prime location for a detention center.

  • Safety Concerns: Buckingham emphasized the need to protect Texas communities. “We are losing too many of our children to these violent criminals that are coming across the border,” she said in an interview with Fox News.

  • State Cooperation: The Texas General Land Office, headed by Buckingham, has pledged to assist the Trump administration by leasing the ranch to federal agencies like DHS, ICE, or Border Patrol.

The ranch’s prior owner had opposed border enforcement efforts, including the construction of fencing and access for law enforcement. Under Texas ownership, these barriers have been removed, allowing the state to fully support Trump’s deportation initiative.

Buckingham framed the 2024 election results as a clear mandate from Americans to restore law and order at the border. “This election was a resounding referendum on the fact that Americans want safe communities,” she stated. “We want people to immigrate legally and legally only.”

The ranch offer reflects the state’s proactive approach to supporting Trump’s mass deportations, which aim to target violent criminals who pose a threat to American lives.

With millions of illegal aliens entering the country under Biden’s administration, Buckingham said her office began exploring ways to aid Trump’s plans immediately after his election victory. The ranch lease represents Texas’ commitment to ensuring the deportation of violent criminals and creating safer communities.

“Texas is ready and willing to do what it takes to get these criminals out of our country,” Buckingham said. “We’re just happy to help.”

As Trump prepares to enact his immigration policies, Texas’ partnership signals a strong alliance between the state and the incoming administration in tackling border security and law enforcement challenges.
