Texas Crushes Sharia Push as Abbott Defends Rule of Law
Imam demands Islamic compliance from stores, but Texas sends a clear message: not in our state.

A radical Houston-based imam just found out the hard way what happens when Sharia law comes knocking in Texas the door slams shut.
In a viral campaign drawing comparisons to extremist “Sharia patrols” in parts of Europe, Imam F. Qasim ibn Ali Khan a Nation of Islam affiliate has been marching through inner-city neighborhoods, demanding that Muslim-owned stores stop selling pork, alcohol, and lottery tickets. His threat? Comply with Islamic law or face protests, public shaming, and escalating pressure.
“In 30 days, we’re going city-wide,” Khan warned during one confrontation. “We’re just getting started.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott wasn’t about to let that threat go unanswered.
“I signed laws that BAN Sharia Law and Sharia Compounds in Texas,” Abbott posted on X. “No business & no individual should fear fools like this.”
He then encouraged Texans to report any attempts to impose religious compliance to local law enforcement or the state Department of Public Safety.
Khan’s tactics are clear:
Filming confrontations with store owners and blasting them online
Labeling Muslims who sell “haram” products as traitors to Islam
Organizing protesters to disrupt local businesses unless demands are met
While Khan claims this is just “da’wah” or religious outreach the optics and tone tell a different story: coercion, not conversation. His mosque, Masjid At-Tawhid, flies a Palestinian flag, and employs private security dressed in uniforms resembling local law enforcement, creating a disturbing image of authority that doesn’t belong in a constitutional republic.
Americans—Muslim or otherwise have the freedom of religion, not the obligation to enforce someone else's interpretation of it. Khan’s tactics are eerily reminiscent of religious thuggery found overseas, not in the land of the free.
This controversy follows a recent attempt to build “EPIC City” a so-called Muslim-only community near Dallas, allegedly designed to operate under Sharia law. Governor Abbott made it crystal clear that such projects won’t fly in Texas.
“There is no construction taking place,” he said, confirming that both state and federal authorities are investigating the project.
“This is America. We don’t bend the law for imported ideologies.”
With backing from Senator John Cornyn and Attorney General Ken Paxton, Texas is taking a firm stance against creeping religious radicalism. And frankly, it’s about time.
While Biden’s administration busies itself with open borders and identity politics, states like Texas are being forced to handle national security threats on their own soil. Whether it’s stopping radical compounds, busting fake communities, or defending store owners from intimidation, the message from Austin is simple: Texas law is the only law here.
This is a clash not just of ideologies, but of values and Texans are choosing liberty, not submission.
