Sunny Hostin’s January 6 Holocaust Comparison Sparks Outrage

ABC News personality Sunny Hostin managed to hit a new low on Monday when she absurdly compared January 6th to World War II, the Holocaust, and slavery as if a three-hour riot with minimal damage somehow belongs in the same category as genocide and centuries of human suffering.

During an episode of The View, Hostin insisted, “You don’t move on because January 6th was an atrocity. It was one of the worst moments in American history. And when you think about the worst moments in American history like World War II, things that happened like the Holocaust, chattel slavery.”

This kind of historical revisionism would be laughable if it weren’t so offensive. Comparing a protest-turned-riot where the only person killed was an unarmed Trump supporter shot by Capitol Police to the mass slaughter of six million Jews, the horrors of slavery, or a world war that claimed over 400,000 American lives is beyond disgraceful.

Hostin’s outrageous comments immediately sparked backlash, with critics pointing out the sheer ignorance and historical illiteracy of her statement.

• “What an insult to every Jewish person on the planet, past and present. Breathtaking minimizing of one of the worst things to happen in human history.” CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings.

Jennings went further, pointing out the disrespect Hostin showed not just to Holocaust victims, but also to every enslaved person in history and every American soldier who died defeating the Nazis.

“This statement doesn’t get any lower,” he added.

The Left desperately wants to inflate January 6th into something it wasn’t because it’s their best excuse to go after political opponents. Never mind the fact that Democrats cheered on months of deadly riots in 2020 some of which actually resulted in mass destruction, businesses burned to the ground, and dozens of deaths.

Hostin’s rhetoric isn’t just factually wrong it’s dangerous. The more the media and Democratic figures push ridiculous historical comparisons, the more they undermine real tragedies and make a mockery of actual history.

The fact that ABC allows this kind of lunacy on daytime television without consequences tells you everything you need to know about the corporate media. America has real issues rampant inflation, a border crisis, rising crime but the Left remains obsessed with pushing a false narrative about a protest from over three years ago.

It’s time to stop pretending people like Sunny Hostin are serious voices. They’re nothing more than mouthpieces for the Democratic machine, spewing propaganda that insults real victims of history’s darkest moments.
