Rubio Blasts Media Bias On Gaza And Warns Allies Are Rewarding Hamas
Secretary of State says unilateral recognition of Palestinian state emboldens terrorists.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio is calling out both the mainstream media and some of America’s allies for actions he says are making it harder to achieve peace in Gaza and effectively rewarding Hamas for terrorism.
In a wide-ranging interview on The World Over, Rubio criticized the press for fixating almost exclusively on the humanitarian situation while virtually ignoring two other urgent realities: the plight of Israeli hostages and the ongoing threat posed by Hamas.
“The first problem is the humanitarian crisis nobody wants to see suffering, and we are ready to help deliver food and medicine to people in Gaza,” Rubio said. “But there are also 20 innocent people being held hostage underground, and the cameras aren’t there covering that. And as long as Hamas exists as an armed organization, there will never be peace.”
Rubio stressed that Hamas’ core mission is to destroy Israel, not to govern peacefully. “Their reason for existing is they want to drive every Jew out of the Middle East,” he said. “As long as they have weapons, they are a threat to peace.”
The Secretary of State warned that diplomatic moves by certain U.S. allies are sending the wrong message.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced France would recognize a Palestinian state, even without a peace deal.
Other nations have threatened to do the same if there is no ceasefire by September.
Rubio said Hamas interprets these steps as incentives to avoid negotiations, seeing them as “victories” without making concessions.
“Well, if I’m Hamas, I basically conclude, let’s not do a ceasefire,” Rubio explained. “We can be rewarded and claim it as a victory.”
Rubio also argued that the recognition of a Palestinian state without defining leadership or borders would almost certainly leave Hamas in charge guaranteeing more conflict. “Israel gave Gaza back, greenhouses and all. They elected Hamas, who destroyed it, built tunnels instead of hospitals. That’s what they do,” he said.
The Arab League has also publicly called for Hamas to disarm and step aside something Rubio says must happen before any political solution can work. Without it, he argues, peace will remain impossible.
“At the end of the day, my problem is that these unilateral steps by certain governments have emboldened Hamas and made it harder to achieve peace,” Rubio concluded.
