Rubio Endorses Mass Deportation of Illegal Aliens Amid Border Crisis

Florida Senator supports Trump's plan to address illegal immigration surge.

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) has expressed strong support for former President Donald Trump's proposed plan to conduct widespread deportations of illegal aliens should he be re-elected. This endorsement comes as the U.S. grapples with a significant surge in illegal immigration under the Biden administration.

Rubio’s Statements on NBC’s "Meet The Press"

During an interview on NBC News’s “Meet The Press” with Kristen Welker, Rubio was asked about Trump's intention to build migrant detention camps and deploy the U.S. military to deport over 11 million undocumented immigrants. Rubio responded emphatically, noting that the actual number of illegal aliens could be as high as 30 million, given the influx during Biden's term.

“The answer to your question is yes,” Rubio affirmed. “We cannot absorb 25, 30 million people who entered this country illegally. They’re here illegally. What country on earth would tolerate that? We don’t even know who some of these, most of these people are.”

Changing Perspectives

Rubio acknowledged his shift from previous positions on immigration, citing the drastically changed circumstances since Biden took office. He emphasized the need for dramatic measures to address the situation, describing it as a "mass migration" crisis rather than traditional immigration.

“When I said that and back in 2013, when I was involved in immigration reform, we had 11 to 12 million people that had been here for longer than a decade,” Rubio explained. “Now, we’ve had almost that number in the last three years alone from all over the world, including people, that I believe, are terrorists.”

Addressing Security Concerns

Rubio underscored the security risks posed by the current state of immigration, expressing concerns about potential terrorists and criminals entering the country. “This is an invasion of the country and it needs to be dealt with dramatically,” he asserted. Rubio also pointed out that public opinion aligns with his stance, suggesting broad support for tougher immigration measures.

Conclusion

Senator Rubio’s endorsement of mass deportation highlights the heightened sense of urgency among Republicans to tackle illegal immigration. As the 2024 election approaches, immigration policy remains a critical issue, with significant implications for national security and public opinion.
