Rubio Moves to Block Visas for Foreigners Who Celebrate Charlie Kirk’s Murder
In the wake of a political assassination, the Trump administration draws a red line against pro-violence extremists abroad.

Following the tragic assassination of conservative firebrand Charlie Kirk, the Trump administration is making it clear if you’re a foreign national who cheers political violence, you are not welcome in the United States.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced Monday that the State Department has already begun revoking visas for foreign individuals who celebrated the brutal killing of Kirk at a Turning Point USA event in Utah. Rubio didn’t mince words and Americans shouldn’t either.
“We should not be giving visas to people who are going to come to the United States and do things like celebrate the murder … of a political figure,” Rubio said in an interview. “And if they’re already here, we should be revoking their visa.”
For far too long, the U.S. has allowed hostile ideologies to infiltrate our borders under the banner of free speech and tolerance even when those views cross into the realm of hate and outright incitement. But the death of Charlie Kirk has become a turning point.
Rubio laid out the new standard:
Foreigners who publicly support political assassinations will be denied entry.
Existing visas for those engaging in pro-violence rhetoric will be revoked.
Ties to terror groups, pro-murder ideologies, or anti-American propaganda will trigger immediate reviews.
This marks a firm departure from the lax policies of the previous administration, which often allowed dangerous foreign actors to exploit America’s open-handed immigration system even as they advocated violence against its people.
Rubio went further in his comments the following day:
“We don’t want pro-murder people in America,” he said bluntly. “If you’re a foreigner, why would we want to allow you into the United States if you’re in favor of murder?”
That statement cuts through the diplomatic fluff. It’s a simple, powerful principle: you don’t get a visa if you’re celebrating the execution of American citizens.
And it’s not just about Charlie Kirk. This is about protecting the core of our republic. It’s about making sure our First Amendment isn’t weaponized by radicals who want to burn this country down literally or ideologically.
Kirk, only 31 years old, was a tireless advocate for conservative values. As the founder of Turning Point USA, he mobilized millions of young Americans to stand up for free speech, capitalism, faith, and traditional American values. His open-debate events challenged the radical left's narrative and gave a voice to students silenced by woke university administrators.
It’s no wonder the far left both here and abroad despised him. But celebration of his death crossed a line.
Rubio’s decisive response is more than symbolic. It’s a warning shot to any foreigner who thinks America is a playground for hate-fueled activism. And it signals that under Trump’s leadership, the federal government will no longer tolerate enemies of the republic walking through the front door.
This is what national security looks like. This is what real leadership sounds like.
