RFK Jr.'s Bizarre Bear Dumping Story Revealed Amid Presidential Campaign

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Shares Peculiar Tale of Disposing Bear Carcass in Central Park.

In an unusual revelation during his independent presidential campaign, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recounted a bizarre incident from a decade ago when he disposed of a dead bear in New York City’s Central Park. This story, told in a video on Kennedy's social media account, showcases a rather unconventional episode in the life of the environmental lawyer turned presidential hopeful.

Speaking with actress Roseanne Barr, Kennedy described how he came across the bear carcass on the roadside after it was struck by another driver. Initially attracting media attention, the story seemed forgotten until resurfacing during a profile interview with The New Yorker.

According to Kennedy, he stumbled upon the bear while out falconing and intended to skin it for meat. However, as his day wore on, he realized he wouldn't have time to do so before catching a flight out of the city. Rather than leaving it behind, he decided to deposit the carcass in Central Park beside an abandoned bicycle, playing into a spate of biking accidents that had recently occurred in the area. Kennedy attributed this idea to the “little bit of redneck in me.”

The incident briefly stirred local media, with concerns that the bear would eventually be traced back to him. Despite initial media buzz, the story faded into obscurity. Recently, however, a video featuring Kennedy recounting this tale was posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account, reigniting interest.

The New Yorker confirmed the story with fewer details in their profile, including a photograph of Kennedy posing with the bear carcass, his hand placed in its mouth, accompanied by a mock grimace. This peculiar episode adds another layer to Kennedy’s already colorful public persona.

When asked about the incident by the magazine, Kennedy joked about a past medical episode involving a parasite in his brain, quipping, “Maybe that’s where I got my brain worm.” He mentioned that the parasite had eaten part of his brain, further adding to the bizarre nature of his anecdote.

This revelation comes as Kennedy seeks to carve out a distinct identity in his presidential campaign, standing apart from the traditional political narratives. While the bear story may not directly impact his political aspirations, it certainly paints a vivid picture of the man behind the campaign.

The tale of RFK Jr.'s roadside adventure and subsequent disposal of a bear in one of the world's most famous parks adds an unexpected twist to the candidate’s backstory, capturing public imagination and fueling discussions about his candidacy.
