Democrat Raskin Says Party Has Room for Marjorie Taylor Greene
Amid clash with Trump and GOP, Greene draws unlikely invitation from left as Dems exploit GOP fractures.

In what may be the strangest political olive branch of 2025, far-left Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) stunned donors and drew boos from his own crowd after suggesting there's room in the Democratic Party for none other than Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
Speaking at a high-dollar “Blue Bash Brunch” fundraiser in Miami, Raskin declared the Democratic Party a “huge tent” so big, in fact, that it could potentially house a conservative lightning rod like Greene, who has recently found herself at odds with both President Trump and the GOP leadership.
“We are a big tent. We must be a huge, vast tent… This is a party that’s got room for Marjorie Taylor Greene, if she wants to come over,” Raskin said, met with groans and jeers from his base.
The awkward moment came as Greene continues to break ranks with the Republican establishment. She’s accused party leaders of backpedaling on health care reform, slammed Israel's military campaign in Gaza, and called for the full release of the Jeffrey Epstein files a move that initially drew criticism from Trump before he reversed course under pressure from House Republicans.
Her outspoken stance even led to Trump revoking his endorsement, calling her a “traitor” to the America First movement an accusation Greene quickly rejected.
“I remain the same today as I’ve always been,” Greene said last week. “I will continue to pray this administration will be successful because the American people desperately deserve what they voted for.”
Despite the drama, Greene has refused to back down, blaming Trump allies for targeting her as a warning to others in the GOP ahead of this week’s critical vote on the Epstein documents.
Make no mistake: Greene is no moderate. But her refusal to blindly follow orders has made her a political orphan and a potential asset for Democrats looking to divide the Republican base.
Raskin’s bizarre pitch cloaked in vague calls for “patriotism” and “defending the Constitution” was more than a gaffe. It was a calculated PR stunt aimed at exploiting GOP fractures and blurring party lines just enough to lure disillusioned voters.
Raskin even tried to redefine his own label. “My favorite thing to call myself today is a conservative,” he claimed, citing a laundry list of Democrat programs and climate policies.
Translation: the Left wants to rebrand themselves as defenders of America, while smearing the GOP as “authoritarian” and “anti-democracy.” It’s the same tired gaslighting they’ve used since 2016 now with a twist of political opportunism aimed at GOP civil war.
But the real story here isn’t about Greene switching parties it’s about how Democrats are openly salivating over Republican infighting. They see a wedge and they’re swinging hard.
In the end, Raskin’s offer to Greene doesn’t expose unity it exposes weakness on both sides. A Democrat Party desperate enough to court its sworn enemy. A fractured GOP struggling to stay on message. And a swamp eager to keep Americans distracted while the real power games unfold behind closed doors.
