Protesters Burn American Flag and Clash with Police Outside Netanyahu Speech

Anti-Israel Demonstrations Turn Violent as Netanyahu Addresses Congress.

Anti-Israel and anti-American protesters set an American flag on fire while chanting “burn that sh**” and “Allahu Akbar” outside Union Station Wednesday. This occurred while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a joint session of Congress just blocks away.

  • Protesters replaced American flags with Palestinian flags on poles outside the building, as shown in a Timcast News video.

  • Several protesters were arrested, with videos by The Blaze correspondent Julio Rosas showing fellow demonstrators attempting to free them.

  • One protester was seen carrying a Hamas flag, according to Fox News.

U.S. Capitol Police reported deploying pepper spray against protesters outside the Capitol after the crowds turned violent during Netanyahu's speech. On Tuesday night, activists bypassed security at the Watergate Hotel, where Netanyahu was staying, releasing maggots, worms, and crickets, as confirmed by a hotel spokeswoman.

During his speech, Netanyahu condemned the anti-Israel protesters on America’s streets and campuses as “useful idiots for Iran.”

“When the tyrants of Tehran, who hang gays from cranes and murder women for not covering their hair, are praising, promoting, and funding you, you have officially become Iran’s useful idiots,” Netanyahu stated. He criticized some protesters for holding up signs proclaiming “Gays for Gaza,” likening it to "chickens for KFC."

Netanyahu also took aim at the slogan “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” used by protesters, pointing out their ignorance of geography and history. “For nearly 4,000 years, the Land of Israel has been the homeland of the Jewish people. It’s always been our home and will always be our home,” he asserted.
