Annual Salary of Prince William Announced Post Title Change

Prince William now earns $30 million annually from the Duchy of Cornwall estate.

Prince William’s annual salary has been revealed in a newly published report following his title change after his father, King Charles III, ascended to the throne in 2022. As the new Duke of Cornwall, William now receives $30 million annually from the Duchy of Cornwall estate, marking his first full year of income from this source.

Key Points:

  • The Integrated Annual Report from the Duchy of Cornwall disclosed a distributable surplus of £23.6 million ($30.4 million) for the 2023-2024 financial year, a slight decrease from the previous year.

  • Prince William and his wife, Catherine, received the full amount for the first time, supporting their official, charitable, and private activities.

  • The duchy boasts over $1 billion in property holdings across 52,250 hectares (approximately 129,112 acres) and more than $100 million in financial assets.

Despite the substantial income, Prince William has chosen not to disclose the exact amount of taxes paid on this income, with Kensington Palace stating only that the "appropriate" amount has been paid, and no further details would be published beyond what is legally required.

Amidst financial revelations, the royal family has also been dealing with personal challenges. The Princess of Wales, Catherine, has been undergoing cancer treatments, resulting in her stepping back from some public duties. She expressed gratitude for the public’s support, sharing her experiences of the ups and downs of chemotherapy.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting,” Catherine said. “But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

Catherine recently made a surprise appearance at Wimbledon, much to the delight of her fans, highlighting her resilience and dedication to public engagements even during her treatment.
