Trump-Hating Tribal Leaders Rake In Millions From Taxpayers While Pushing Democrat Agenda

California tribe runs a half-billion-dollar casino empire yet cashes in on welfare grants and climate cash.

A California Native American tribe that has aggressively opposed President Donald Trump and showered Democrats with political donations has quietly raked in over $28 million in federal taxpayer funding all while operating one of the most profitable casinos in the United States, according to a bombshell report from the American Accountability Foundation.

The Pechanga Band of Luiseno Indians, whose leaders live in multi-million-dollar homes and enjoy casino profits estimated at nearly $500 million annually, has positioned itself as a loyal foot soldier for the Democratic Party even as its members enjoy tens of thousands in monthly payments from gaming revenue.

Here’s the truth about the Pechanga tribe’s cozy relationship with D.C. Democrats and your tax dollars:

  1. Since 2008, the tribe has taken over $27 million in federal grants, including:

    • $13.4 million from Health and Human Services

    • $6.9 million from the EPA

    • $2.4 million from the Department of the Interior

    • $2.2 million from the DOJ

  2. The tribe has pocketed over $12 million through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program a welfare fund meant for struggling families.

  3. In 2024, the EPA gave the tribe $368,583 to buy a dump truck and water tanker. In 2025, another $100,000 was handed out to install an ozone monitor courtesy of Biden’s so-called “Inflation Reduction Act.”

At the same time, tribal leaders like Chief Mark Macarro have appeared aboard Air Force One with President Joe Biden, pushed for the release of a convicted cop-killer, and poured thousands of dollars into Democrat campaigns, including Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton.

Macarro himself lives in a $3 million Temecula mansion, and he and his wife, Democratic strategist Holly Macarro, were guests at a Biden White House state dinner in 2024.

Another top tribal official, Victor Rocha, posted that it was “okay to punch Nazis and Heritage Foundation members in the face” a vile, hateful comment that reflects the tribe’s deep-rooted hostility toward conservatives.

Despite this partisan behavior and financial excess, the tribe still pockets millions under the guise of “assisting impoverished communities.” But the numbers don’t lie:

A 2012 CBS report found that Pechanga tribe members were pulling in $20,000 to $30,000 per month from casino revenue alone.

That hasn’t stopped them from cashing federal checks and mocking the very taxpayers footing the bill.

“Taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to bankroll the Pechanga tribe’s lavish lifestyles and radical views,” said AAF President Tom Jones. “That’s not an ‘impoverished community,’ it’s a corrupt one. Time to shut the spigot off.”

Even worse, tribal leaders have attacked Trump for daring to shut down the Department of Education, falsely claiming it would harm Native students. In truth, the department has done nothing to improve student outcomes, while using its bloated budget to promote DEI and radical ideology.

This isn’t about tribal sovereignty. It’s about federal corruption, political payoffs, and taxpayer abuse.

If a half-billion-dollar casino empire can keep its claws deep in the federal welfare pot all while vilifying the president and promoting far-left causes it’s time to ask: Why are taxpayers still funding this?
