Netanyahu Dismisses Rumors of Rift With Trump After Gaza Talks
Israeli leader says alliance with Trump remains strong as peace efforts enter critical phase.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pushing back hard on claims that he and President Donald Trump are at odds over the future of Gaza and the West Bank, calling such reports nothing more than “fake spins.”
During a Tuesday evening interview with Bret Baier on Special Report, Netanyahu detailed his recent high-stakes meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago, where the two discussed the second phase of the Gaza peace deal a deal brokered with heavy involvement from the Trump team after nearly two years of war.
“He cut right to the chase,” Netanyahu said of Trump. “He said, ‘Look, skip all this press stuff.’ The real thing is, you have got to get Hamas to disarm.”
The prime minister rejected any narrative suggesting tension or disagreement, despite Trump acknowledging to the press on Monday that the two leaders held differing views on some West Bank policies. Netanyahu clarified that while they might have nuances in approach, both are committed to ensuring the region doesn't become a launchpad for future terrorist attacks.
“I think we both want to see a future in which that territory is not used for terrorist attacks,” he said. “And I think there is a lot of room to talk about it.”
Netanyahu praised Trump as a consistent and unwavering ally especially in contrast to the weak leadership in Washington under Joe Biden, whose administration has repeatedly caved to international pressure while turning a blind eye to the suffering caused by Hamas terrorism.
“It’s a partnership of like-minded people and leaders,” Netanyahu said. “And I am very grateful to President Trump for that support that he gives us.”
Following the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack, which left over 1,200 Israelis dead and 240 hostages taken, Israel waged a multi-front war that finally led to a Trump-brokered peace deal. Phase one saw 20 living hostages released in exchange for 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. Now, the critical second phase hinges on one key condition the disarmament of Hamas.
Netanyahu was clear that Hamas has no place in Gaza’s future. “The point here is not to negotiate with Hamas... Their job is to vanish. Stop. No more,” he stated. “And you know who wants it more than anyone else? The people of Gaza.”
Netanyahu also expressed optimism that a stabilized Gazan government could emerge in 2026 if Hamas is removed from power, whether by international forces or Israeli operations.
To underscore the bond between the two leaders, Netanyahu announced that Trump will be honored with Israel’s highest cultural award the Israel Prize, marking the first time in nearly 80 years that a non-Israeli citizen has received the distinction.
Despite the media’s relentless effort to sow division, the reality is clear: Trump and Netanyahu remain united in their mission to restore peace and crush terrorism a vision far stronger than anything coming out of the Biden White House.
