Netanyahu to Join Trump’s Gaza Peace Board After Initial Hesitation
Despite early objections to Turkey and Qatar’s involvement, Israeli Prime Minister backs Trump’s bold plan to bypass the UN and reshape Middle East peace.

After some initial pushback, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to join President Donald Trump’s newly formed Gaza Board of Peace a diplomatic initiative designed to oversee the reconstruction and stabilization of Gaza without the interference of bloated, ineffective global bureaucracies like the United Nations.
Netanyahu’s announcement marks a significant shift, following concerns raised by his office earlier this week over the appointment of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Qatari diplomat Ali Al-Thawadi to the separate “Gaza Executive Board.” Israel initially blasted that move as uncoordinated and “contrary to its policy.” Yet now, Netanyahu appears ready to place his trust in the broader vision Trump is constructing.
That vision? A bold, post-UN framework for lasting peace.
Trump, who’s attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, confirmed that the Gaza Board of Peace will oversee the full implementation of his 20-point peace plan which includes international oversight, economic development, and strategic rebuilding of the Gaza Strip. And he hinted at something much larger.
“It might replace the UN,” Trump told reporters Tuesday, calling the global body “not very helpful” and saying it “has never lived up to its potential.”
The Board of Peace is already drawing attention worldwide:
Dozens of nations have received invitations, including India, Ukraine, Egypt, Argentina, Hungary, and Vietnam.
Russia’s Vladimir Putin confirmed he received an invite and is “studying the details.”
France, unsurprisingly, is dragging its feet, saying it won’t join “at this stage.”
The European Union’s executive arm has acknowledged receiving an invitation but hasn't responded publicly.
Netanyahu’s decision to join likely signals that Trump’s board won’t be another symbolic committee it will be the new center of gravity for diplomacy in the Middle East.
The White House says the board will be chaired by Trump himself and include a mix of political, diplomatic, and business leaders:
Jared Kushner, former senior advisor and key architect of the Abraham Accords
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, one of the most hawkish voices on Middle East policy
Steve Witkoff, U.S. Special Envoy
Marc Rowan, billionaire and CEO of Apollo Global Management, bringing economic heft to the table
With this board, Trump is doing what globalists fear most: removing the Middle East’s future from the hands of UN bureaucrats and returning it to those who actually want results.
And that’s exactly why the establishment hates it.
Trump’s Gaza Board of Peace is already showing what America First diplomacy looks like: strategic, unapologetic, and focused on outcomes, not endless process. Netanyahu’s decision to join is just the latest validation of Trump’s leadership on the world stage and a reminder that real peace is only possible when strong leaders lead.
