Mullin Slams Democrat Senator for ‘Outright Dangerous’ Comments on Gabbard

GOP Senator defends Trump’s DNI pick against baseless attacks from Democrats.

Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) strongly condemned Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) for her “outright dangerous” attack on former Representative Tulsi Gabbard during a heated segment on CNN’s State of the Union. Mullin defended Gabbard, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence, against Duckworth’s baseless claim that Gabbard is “compromised” and might not act in America’s best interests.

Mullin reminded viewers that Gabbard is not only a decorated veteran but continues to serve as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. “If she was compromised, if she wasn’t able to pass a background check, if she wasn’t able to do her job, she still wouldn’t be in the Army,” Mullin stated.

He highlighted Gabbard’s leadership in commanding a Reserve unit across Oklahoma and Missouri, emphasizing her unblemished service record and dedication to national security. “To accuse a United States lieutenant colonel of being compromised without evidence is not just ridiculous it’s outright dangerous,” Mullin added.

Duckworth’s accusations, Mullin suggested, may stem from frustration over Gabbard’s decision to leave the Democratic Party, where she was increasingly at odds with the far-left faction. Now a Republican, Gabbard has become a vocal critic of the Democratic establishment, earning her sharp rebukes from figures like Duckworth.

Mullin called on Duckworth to retract her statements, warning of the potential harm such accusations could cause. “The most dangerous thing she could say is that a United States lieutenant colonel in the United States Army is compromised and an asset of Russia,” Mullin said, underscoring the recklessness of such rhetoric.

President-elect Trump’s decision to nominate Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence has been met with praise from Republicans and some independents who view her as a principled leader willing to challenge the status quo. Gabbard’s military background, bipartisan appeal, and experience in foreign affairs make her uniquely qualified for the role.

Mullin’s defense of Gabbard underscores a broader GOP effort to push back against unfounded attacks and ensure that America’s national security leaders are chosen based on merit, not partisan smears.
