Missouri AG Demands Accountability After Kansas City Doxxes Chiefs Kicker

Harrison Butker targeted for expressing religious views in commencement speech.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has taken a firm stand against the recent doxxing of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker. The incident occurred following Butker's controversial commencement speech, where he criticized President Joe Biden and woke policies.

The Incident

On social media, the official Kansas City account inadvertently revealed personal information about Butker, including his town of residence. This action followed Butker’s speech at Benedictine College, where he expressed strong views on abortion and diversity policies, aligning with his Catholic beliefs. The Kansas City post was quickly deleted, and an apology was issued, but the damage had been done.

AG Bailey responded robustly, emphasizing the protection of religious freedoms. “My office is demanding accountability after @KansasCity doxxed @buttkicker7 last night for daring to express his religious beliefs,” Bailey wrote on X. “I will enforce the Missouri Human Rights Act to ensure Missourians are not targeted for their free exercise of religion. Stay tuned.”

Official Apologies and Responses

Kansas City’s apology was swift, acknowledging the inappropriateness of the post. Mayor Quinton Lucas also condemned the incident, ensuring that measures would be taken to prevent future occurrences. “The message was clearly inappropriate for a public account,” Lucas stated. “The City has correctly apologized for the error, will review account access, and ensure nothing like it is shared in the future from public channels.”

Butker's Speech and Controversial Comments

Butker, a three-time Super Bowl champion, did not shy away from sensitive topics during his speech at Benedictine College. He criticized Biden’s stance on abortion, suggesting it contradicts his Catholic faith. “Bad policies and poor leadership have negatively impacted major life issues,” Butker stated, listing abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, and degenerate cultural values as problems stemming from disorder.

Butker also took a veiled shot at Biden, referencing the president’s sign of the cross during a pro-abortion speech. “Our nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally,” he said.

Broader Implications

This incident underscores the ongoing tensions between expressing religious beliefs and public reactions. It also highlights the challenges faced by public figures who speak out on controversial issues. AG Bailey's involvement indicates that this issue may lead to significant legal and social discussions about the balance between free speech and public accountability.

As this situation evolves, it is crucial to follow developments to understand the broader implications for free speech and religious expression in America. Share this article to inform others about this critical issue, and consider subscribing to our newsletter for continued updates.
