Javier Milei Declares War on Global Left in Explosive U.N. Speech

Argentina’s president takes aim at the U.N. agenda and pledges a future of freedom for his country and the world.

Argentina's new president, Javier Milei, sent shockwaves through the United Nations this week with a fiery speech declaring war on the global Left and announcing a bold new direction for his country. Milei, a 53-year-old libertarian economist whose policies have already shown signs of reversing Argentina’s economic decline, promised to stand up for freedom and reject the oppressive agendas that have plagued the world for decades.

“I became a politician following the resounding failure of more than a century of collectivist policies that destroyed our country,” Milei told the assembly, making it clear that Argentina would no longer remain neutral in the face of growing global challenges.

Milei’s presidency has already made significant progress in Argentina, with inflation rates dropping, housing becoming more affordable, and economic growth exceeding expectations. Yet his speech was not just about Argentina—it was a broadside against what he described as the tyrannical overreach of the U.N. and globalist elites.

He accused the U.N. of straying from its original mission to prevent major wars and protect human dignity, claiming that it had transformed into a “leviathan” attempting to control nations and dictate how people live their lives. The U.N.’s 2030 Agenda, according to Milei, is nothing more than “a supranational government program that is socialist in shape,” infringing on national sovereignty and individual freedoms.

Key Highlights from Milei’s Speech:

  • The 2030 Agenda is a globalist threat: Milei criticized the U.N.’s 2030 Agenda as a socialist program that undermines sovereignty, property rights, and individual liberty. He argued that such programs worsen poverty and inequality rather than solve them.

  • COVID lockdowns were crimes against humanity: Milei condemned the U.N.’s role in promoting global lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic, accusing the organization of committing “crimes against humanity” by supporting these draconian measures.

  • The U.N. protects dictatorships: Milei blasted the U.N. for allowing authoritarian regimes, such as Cuba and Venezuela, to hold seats on the Human Rights Council. He also slammed the organization for failing to defend liberal democracies, like Israel, while turning a blind eye to terrorism and real threats.

Milei’s sharpest criticism came when he outlined the economic damage caused by U.N.-backed collectivist policies. These policies, he said, not only stifle growth and violate property rights, but also keep poorer countries in perpetual debt. “We have imposed regulations and prohibitions on countries that wish to develop,” he stated, blaming the U.N. for establishing toxic relationships between global governance and international creditors.

Argentina’s New Path Forward

Milei also declared that Argentina would no longer support policies that restrict individual or trade freedoms, no matter how popular these agendas are among international elites. “We believe in the defense of life for all. We believe in the defense of property for all. We believe in freedom of expression for all,” he proclaimed.

He warned that Argentina would now take an active role in the global fight for liberty, rejecting the U.N.’s collectivist programs and leading a new “agenda for freedom.” In a call to action for the free world, he invited nations to join Argentina in resisting these policies and working toward a new era of individual rights and limited government.

Milei concluded his speech with a powerful declaration: “From this day on, Argentina will abandon its policy of historic neutrality and will be on the vanguard in the struggle for the defense of freedom.” Quoting American revolutionary Thomas Paine, he reminded the audience that freedom requires sacrifice: “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.”

Argentina’s libertarian revolution has only just begun, and Milei is determined to see it through on the world stage. His challenge to the U.N. marks the start of a new chapter in the global fight for freedom, and his leadership promises to inspire others to follow suit.
