Man Arrested After Mid-Flight Bomb Threat Targeting Trump

EasyJet flight to Glasgow forced to make emergency landing as suspect shouted anti-Trump slogans.

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in Scotland after threatening to blow up an EasyJet flight while screaming “Death to Trump! Allahu Akbar!” during a terrifying mid-air incident on Sunday. The flight, EZY609 from London Luton to Glasgow, was forced to make an emergency landing amid fears of a bomb threat.

The man, reportedly an Indian national living in the United Kingdom, shouted anti-American slogans and claimed he intended to send “a message to Trump,” who was in Scotland over the weekend for golf and trade discussions. Video posted on X shows the suspect standing in the aisle, yelling threats before a passenger bravely tackled him to the ground.

Eyewitnesses described the frightening scene:

  • “I’ve never seen anything like it,” one passenger told The Sun. “The airline staff, they were all girls, and they were really shaken up by it, but they were super professional.”

  • Another recalled passengers crying as the chaos unfolded, saying, “It was just a bit surreal.”

  • Witnesses reported that the suspect “came out of the toilet shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ with his hands above his head,” startling everyone on board.

The Scotland police confirmed the arrest, stating, “A 41-year-old man was arrested in connection and further enquiries are ongoing. At this time, we believe the incident was contained and that nobody else was involved.” Counter-terrorism officers are currently reviewing videos from the flight.

In a statement, EasyJet confirmed the crew acted immediately to ensure the safety of everyone on board “Flight EZY609 from Luton to Glasgow this morning was met by police on arrival in Glasgow, where they boarded the aircraft and removed a passenger due to their behaviour onboard. EasyJet’s crew are trained to assess all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised at any time.”

The man is expected to face formal charges in court on Monday.

This alarming incident underscores the ongoing security challenges airlines face as global tensions rise. Trump’s presence in Scotland combined with his tough stance on radical extremism appears to have made him a direct target of the suspect’s threats.

The passengers’ quick thinking and the crew’s swift response likely prevented a much worse outcome. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the incident was part of a larger plot or a lone act of rage.
