Los Angeles on Edge as Measles Outbreak Spreads

Travelers bring highly contagious disease to Disneyland, LAX, and local restaurants as officials scramble.

California health officials are sounding the alarm as Los Angeles enters panic mode over a growing measles outbreak one that has already spread through major travel and tourism hubs like LAX and Disneyland.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has confirmed multiple measles cases in recent days, tied directly to international travelers who unknowingly exposed thousands of people across some of the state’s busiest locations.

One of the infected travelers passed through LAX’s B terminal around midnight on January 26, then stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and visited Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure just two days later. Another infected individual dined at Mardi Gras Tuesday restaurant in Sherman Oaks on January 24. A third visited a Dunkin’ Donuts in Woodland Hills on January 30.

This isn’t an isolated incident. It’s part of a national surge in measles cases. The CDC has confirmed 588 cases across 17 U.S. states so far in 2026, with California now emerging as a major hotspot.

Let’s not sugarcoat it: this outbreak didn’t just come out of nowhere. It’s the product of failed border security, lax screening of international travelers, and a political class more concerned with “inclusive messaging” than public health preparedness.

  • Measles is one of the most contagious diseases known to man the CDC estimates that 9 out of 10 people exposed will be infected if they aren’t vaccinated.

  • Complications from measles can include pneumonia, brain swelling, and even death, particularly in young children.

  • Among this year’s confirmed U.S. cases, only 3 were international visitors, meaning the other 585 were domestic transmissions a chilling sign that it's already spreading rapidly inside the country.

Dr. Muntu Davis, LA County’s health officer, warned “It is critical that everyone ensures they are protected. The MMR vaccine remains the strongest and most effective way to protect yourself, your family, and your community.”

But while health officials scramble to contain the fallout, Americans should be asking the harder questions: Why is our system so vulnerable to imported diseases? Why are unvaccinated international travelers still walking through our airports and amusement parks without any accountability?

We saw this with COVID, and we’re seeing it again now dangerous diseases making their way into the country thanks to globalist policies and government indifference.

The left is quick to lecture Americans about vaccines, but slow to act when it comes to ensuring that travelers from abroad meet the same standards. That hypocrisy could now cost lives.

It’s not fearmongering. It’s reality. And with Disneyland and LAX already exposed, millions could be at risk unless leaders start taking border health security seriously.
