Mark Robinson Pledges to Stay in NC Governor’s Race After CNN Hit Piece
Robinson slams CNN report as tabloid trash and vows to focus on real issues despite attacks.
Mark Robinson, the Republican frontrunner for North Carolina governor, has vowed to remain in the race after CNN dropped a salacious report attempting to discredit him with over a decade old allegations. The report claims Robinson, under the username "minisoldr," posted controversial messages on a pornography site’s message board from 2008 to 2012, including inflammatory comments about race, slavery, and transgender pornography.
Robinson quickly hit back, denying the accusations in a video posted on social media before CNN even released the story. “Let me reassure you, the things that you will see in that story, those are not the words of Mark Robinson. You know my words, you know my character,” Robinson said. He dismissed the report as a desperate attempt to shift the focus from critical issues in the governor’s race to “salacious, tabloid trash.”
The CNN article claimed to have linked Robinson to the pornography site Nude Africa by uncovering personal details in the account that matched the candidate’s life and even included a profile picture resembling him. The report detailed offensive comments allegedly posted by Robinson, including disturbing statements about Martin Luther King Jr., slavery, and Muslims.
One alleged post read: “Get that f*cking commie bastard off the National Mall!” in reference to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. Another purported post said, “Slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves. I wish they would bring it back.” Robinson vehemently denied these allegations, labeling them as fabrications and politically motivated attacks from his Democratic opponent, North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein.
“Folks, this race right now, our opponents are desperate to shift the focus from the substantive issues to salacious tabloid trash,” Robinson declared, dismissing the accusations as part of a smear campaign orchestrated by Stein. He criticized CNN for trafficking in such claims, asserting that his words have been distorted and manipulated to paint a false picture.
Robinson, known for his unapologetic conservative values and defense of traditional principles, has faced fierce opposition from liberal media and political elites since launching his campaign. His supporters remain unfazed by these new allegations, recognizing them as a coordinated effort to undermine a strong Republican candidate who has energized North Carolina’s conservative base.
Mark Robinson is no stranger to controversy, having been a staunch defender of gun rights and vocal critic of left-wing identity politics.
His campaign has centered on tackling key issues like economic growth, protecting parental rights in education, and standing up to radical agendas in Washington.
Despite CNN’s hit piece, Robinson’s grassroots support continues to grow, as voters reject the mainstream media’s efforts to derail his run for governor.
As the race heats up, it’s clear that Robinson isn’t backing down. His resolve to stay focused on real issues like defending North Carolina families and restoring common sense has only been strengthened by these attacks.
