Marjorie Taylor Greene to Lead New DOGE Panel Targeting Government Waste

DOGE initiative joins forces with Congress to eliminate bureaucracy and inefficiency.

A new House subcommittee, chaired by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), will work alongside the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to root out government waste and streamline federal operations. The subcommittee, officially named the Delivering on Government Efficiency Subcommittee, is being launched under the House Oversight Committee, led by Chairman James Comer (R-KY).

President-elect Donald Trump’s DOGE initiative, headed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, is a cornerstone of his agenda to “dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies.” The partnership with the congressional subcommittee reflects a coordinated effort to overhaul Washington’s bloated operations.

Comer emphasized that the subcommittee’s mission aligns with Trump’s vision, which received overwhelming voter support in the recent election.

“Wasteful government spending must end, and taxpayers deserve to see their money used effectively and efficiently,” Comer said. “Trump’s landslide victory reflects a clear mandate to address inflationary spending that’s driving up the cost of living for hardworking Americans.”

Greene said her subcommittee would deliver “transparency and truth” through a series of hearings aimed at exposing inefficiencies and corruption within federal agencies.

“No topic will be off the table,” Greene declared, adding that the work would identify people and programs that “need to be fired.”

She voiced excitement about collaborating directly with Musk, Ramaswamy, and the DOGE team.

“We will identify and investigate the waste, corruption, and absolutely useless parts of our federal government,” Greene said.

The DOGE initiative will work with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to advise the president on reducing federal bloat. It will operate with a clear deadline, aiming to complete its mission by July 4, 2026, the nation’s 250th birthday.

Elon Musk has already laid out his goals for DOGE, focusing on overregulation and runaway spending.

“The world is suffering slow strangulation by overregulation. Every year, the noose tightens a little more,” Musk said recently.

He has warned of the economic consequences if drastic measures aren’t taken. “We’re going to make the spending lower… if we don’t, we’re going to bankrupt the country,” Musk said at a Pennsylvania town hall last month.

With a mandate from voters and collaboration between Congress and the executive branch, the subcommittee and DOGE aim to bring meaningful change to Washington. If successful, the effort could usher in a new era of efficiency, accountability, and transparency in government operations.
