Lara Trump Announces Massive Turnout at Butler Rally, Over 100,000 in Attendance
Historic rally marks a moment of healing and remembrance for Trump supporters and the nation.
Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump revealed over the weekend that more than 100,000 people attended former President Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. The event was a significant moment not only for Trump’s presidential campaign but also for the community, as it marked his return to the site where he survived an assassination attempt just three months earlier.
In an interview on CNN’s State of the Union, Lara Trump called the rally a “beautiful moment” for the nation. “Whether you love Donald Trump or not, I don’t think any of us will forget where we were when we found out what had happened to him on July 13. And that’s a traumatic thing to happen to a country,” she said, referring to the day Trump was shot by a would-be assassin.
The rally held a personal significance for many attendees, including the family of Corey Comperatore, the man who died shielding his family during the shooting. Lara Trump recalled her emotional interaction with Comperatore’s widow, Helen, and their two daughters as they commemorated his bravery.
“I can tell you, when we got off the plane yesterday, I was a little bit emotional, and I got to sit right next to Helen Comperatore, Corey Comperatore’s widow, and his two daughters,” she shared. “It was a really beautiful tribute. And I think it was important for Donald Trump to go back and create new memories for the people of Butler, Pennsylvania.”
Lara Trump emphasized the massive turnout, noting, “I can tell you there were over 100,000 people at that rally last night. I have never seen a crowd like that. You couldn’t even see, standing on the stage, how far back the audience went.”
The rally also underscored the high stakes of the upcoming 2024 election, as Lara Trump pointed out that the choice facing voters is between continuing the decline under the Biden administration or returning to a time when Americans were better off economically and felt safer both at home and abroad.
As Trump’s campaign gains momentum, the rally in Butler served as a powerful reminder of his strong base of support and the desire for change among many Americans.
