Kevin Spacey Says He’s Homeless After Career Collapse
Despite zero convictions, actor says industry blacklisting and legal costs have left him with nothing.

Once one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors, Kevin Spacey now says he’s homeless, living out of hotels and Airbnb rentals after a years-long sexual abuse scandal obliterated his career despite being acquitted of every criminal charge and found not liable in civil court.
In a revealing new interview with The Telegraph, the 66-year-old Oscar winner admitted he’s no longer a property owner, having lost his longtime Maryland home, and is struggling to make ends meet.
“I literally have no home,” Spacey said. “I’m going where the work is.”
For nearly seven years, Spacey has faced a barrage of allegations, lawsuits, and media backlash. While the accusations were enough to end his career and exile him from Hollywood, they’ve produced zero convictions. He was:
Found not liable in a high-profile civil lawsuit brought by actor Anthony Rapp in 2022
Acquitted of nine criminal charges in the UK in 2023 related to alleged incidents from 2001 to 2013
Had multiple other cases dropped or dismissed
But the damage was done. Spacey’s financial reserves have been gutted by legal fees and loss of income.
“The costs over these last seven years have been astronomical,” he said. “I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out.”
Still, Spacey says he’s not bitter. Instead, he’s hoping the door to Hollywood might finally reopen if the right people step up.
“We are in touch with some extremely powerful people who want to put me back to work,” Spacey said. “But what the industry seems to be waiting for is to be given permission by someone in a position of enormous respect and authority.”
He named Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino as examples of directors who could change the narrative instantly with a phone call.
It’s worth noting that Spacey has never been convicted of any crime, yet he’s been effectively blacklisted, a fate increasingly common in an era where accusation equals condemnation. Meanwhile, others in Hollywood with actual convictions or far worse allegations continue to enjoy careers, awards, and public redemption arcs.
At the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, Spacey received a lifetime achievement award a rare moment of recognition. In his speech, he struck a reflective tone:
“I’ve come out the other side not angry, not bitter, not resentful, but more present, more loving, more understanding and more forgiving than I ever have been in my life.”
But while forgiveness may come personally, professionally it remains elusive. Hollywood, which often lectures America on fairness and second chances, seems in no rush to give either to Spacey.
For now, he remains in limbo cleared of guilt but punished all the same.
