Harris Finishes Campaign Speech with ‘Petty Tyrant’ Remark About Trump Amid Protests

With divisions in her own party, Harris attacks Trump as protests erupt nearby.

With just days left before Election Day, Kamala Harris launched an all-out verbal offensive against former President Donald Trump, branding him as an “authoritarian” and a “wannabe dictator” in what her campaign pitched as her final appeal to voters. Speaking from the Ellipse near the White House, Harris didn’t hold back on accusations, calling Trump a “petty tyrant” who aims to plunge America into chaos.

Yet, just outside her rally, far-left protesters voiced a dissenting view one that Harris and the Democratic Party would rather avoid. Protesters, reportedly linked to recent tensions surrounding the Israel-Gaza conflict, accused Harris of complicity in violence abroad. The event underscored a widening fracture within the Democratic ranks that could affect the vice president’s support in key states.

Key points from the rally highlight how Harris is framing Trump in the final stretch:

  • “Wannabe Dictator”: Harris claimed Trump’s goal is to create division and sow chaos, a narrative Democrats have pushed since Trump first took office.

  • Blame for January 6: Harris dredged up January 6th, blaming Trump for “sending an armed mob” to the Capitol, a move aimed at rallying voters still wary of the former president.

  • Economic and Social Promises: Harris again promised action on healthcare and abortion rights, pinning Trump as the enemy of women’s rights and economic fairness.

Meanwhile, the protesters outside revealed deeper fissures within the Democratic base. Far-left activists shouted and disrupted Harris’ speech, labeling her “complicit in genocide” over her foreign policy stance. Some protestors even flaunted imagery tied to extremist groups, and their clashes with Harris supporters reveal just how fractured the Democratic Party has become. With a large Muslim population in states like Michigan, this divide could prove critical in tight races.

One protester, breaching police lines, waved a Palestinian flag on the event’s stage, while others held signs glorifying violence. These actions expose a Democratic split on foreign policy and threaten the unity Harris desperately needs to maintain.

Trump, meanwhile, fired back, noting that Harris spent most of her time obsessing over him rather than her own platform. Speaking to supporters in North Carolina, he mocked Harris’ speech as further proof of “Trump derangement syndrome,” saying, “They have no achievements, only failure.”

Harris’ closing message centered on painting Trump as the return of an old enemy: “Nearly 250 years ago, America was born when we wrested freedom from a petty tyrant. They did not struggle, sacrifice, and lay down their lives, only to see us cede our fundamental freedoms.”

Still, Trump maintains a slight edge in battleground states like Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Georgia, where polling shows a tight race. Democratic strongholds like Michigan may still lean left, but with fractures widening in her base, Harris’ standing in these states is anything but secure.

If this election is truly about “freedom for every American,” Harris may need to convince her own party first.
