Kamala Harris Slams Elon Musk as Trump Ally, Trump Campaign Fires Back

Political tensions rise as Kamala Harris attacks Elon Musk during Trump's X Spaces chat.

Vice President Kamala Harris launched a scathing attack on Elon Musk during a heated exchange on Monday. The tech billionaire and X owner engaged in a live Spaces discussion with former President Donald Trump, Harris's 2024 rival. The event on X, formerly known as Twitter, quickly became a political battleground.

Harris's campaign sent an email to supporters with links to the online fundraising platform ActBlue, under the provocative headline, "The two worst people you know are live this evening." The email labeled Musk as a "lackey for Team MAGA" and accused him of leveraging his wealth and influence to undermine democracy. Harris's campaign also criticized Musk for "ruining" Twitter and allowing disinformation to spread on the platform under the guise of free speech.

The Trump campaign did not hesitate to respond. In a post on X, they highlighted the success of Trump's Spaces discussion, which attracted over a million listeners. "President Trump has been speaking for over an hour to over a million people about his winning agenda for the American people," the post stated. It also took aim at Harris, claiming she is unwilling to engage with the media or articulate her campaign platform. "Kamala is BIG MAD about this as she refuses to speak to the media, do an interview, or even explain what platform she is even running on," the Trump team said, calling the vice president's stance "so pathetic."

Despite technical issues at the start, including what Musk described as a "massive" DDOS attack, the X Spaces event successfully continued after a brief delay. Musk noted that he wanted the event to be a "conversation" rather than a traditional interview, allowing the audience to understand Trump's natural communication style. "Nobody is quite themselves in an interview, so it’s hard to understand what they’re really like," Musk explained.

Trump's presence on X marked a notable return, with his account becoming active for the first time in nearly a year. Among the posts was a thought-provoking question: "Are you better off now than you were when I was president?"

Musk, who announced his support for Trump last month following an assassination attempt on the former president during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, has reportedly backed a pro-Trump super PAC. Meanwhile, Musk expressed openness to having a similar conversation with Kamala Harris, adding another layer of intrigue to the ongoing political drama.

This unfolding saga highlights the intensifying political climate as the 2024 election approaches. To stay informed on developments like these, consider sharing this article or subscribing to our newsletter.
